I think we should sell, not because he's ****e but because he will still command a big transfer fee.

Ronaldo scored a lot of goals last season, doesn't mean he played well. Mo hasn't beaten too many players this term or managed to change the course of a game if the team is struggling. Personally the numbers have been great for him and I'm sure he'll be delighted with his season. I think it's been a complete **** show from pretty much every player and the management team. Some people look at stats but also watch the games too. Ultimately he's divisive. When he's been bad he's been worse than at any stage he's been with. When he's been good he hasn't been anywhere near the player he was at his peak. He's 100% in decline but I'm sure he'll continue to personally get above decent numbers next term.

Anyone who watches the games too would have to concede that our system at times this season has handicapped his effectiveness. Salah needs to be on the ball in the box, not stuck out on the touchline.

Even so, he's still our top goalscorer. Also his defensive diligence and being top assister too makes the Ronaldo comparison pretty misplaced.

All of this and he genuinely hasn’t had his best season. I think with a more settled side, with teams also having to worry about Diaz plus a better midfield he will be up around 20 goals. The reason he has had looked less effective at times this season is definitely down to the fact that for about 10 games he was literally our only goal threat. Teams new that if they marked him they stopped us scoring.

He still looks very strong fit and sharp to me.

If it was that easy to knock in 20 goals from RW each season loads of players would be doing it. He’s out performing Rashford and Saka who people absolutely eulogise.

This and all of our players have been effected by the hangover/burnout of last season and the dysfunctional preparation/tactics of this season.

Salah has had this, plus playing every possible minute of AFCON in the middle of last season too. And yet his drop off is probably the least pronounced out of everyone’s.

And as you say, what he’s doing is still considered a great season by other player’s standards.

He’s a phenomenal player and that’s all there is to it.

this is absolutely spot on. He's a ****ing outstanding talent & even in a dysfunctional side, in a formation and setup that isn't getting the best out of him... he still ends up with 30 goals 11 Assists. How anybody can criticise him is beyond me.

When he leaves we'll all realise just how good he was for LFC. A genuine world class talent.

I don’t think he has been helped from the changes made to how Trent has been asked to play. The first few seasons, Trent was constantly overlapping him and he was closer to goal.

                          Still a fantastic player though.

the stats show his touches in the box have gone through a roof since the change and his goalscoring record hasnt been too bad

His shot conversion has decreased since his first few seasons. Overall it’s 44 pct as an average for LFC in the prem since he arrived and the last few seasons he has been below this.

I think what is happening is that because he doesn’t have someone overlapping him as much in the early days and because teams after the first season or two all took to doubling up on him, he hasn’t been able to get as many clean shots away.

The same stats also coincide with the decrease in the number of turnovers further forward in midfield.

Fabinho's improvement in form has also coincided with that decrease in turnovers.

Methinks the impact of Jones on things like turnovers, press effectiveness against us, ball retention etc have gone under the radar somewhat.

Jones is showing the difference an improvement in midfield can have on the rest of the team as it buys a litle more time for everyone else to do their stuff as a higher level, now imagine two or three midfielders that are better than Jones being added and the impact they would have on turn overs, press resistence etc and what that would do for our attack and back line.
