I don't care about penalties and tap ins. He's finished. He's fucling woeful to watch. Zero ability to shoot from outside the box. Can't beat anyone. No power. He's at the stage where he should be coming in off the bench when opponents are tired.Always borrow money from a pessimist. He won’t expect it back. Oscar Wilde

He wasn't alone. But he plays like this in every game. The tips in and frequency of pens masks it.Originally posted by danperkins View PostHe had a giant mare today, desperate performance. He wasn't alone though.Always borrow money from a pessimist. He won’t expect it back. Oscar Wilde

You know a player is done when they can’t beat a man anymore and constantly hit defenders with both passes and shots. Mo was dreadful today… but sadly, not alone.

I hate watching him play. Does my head in. I know if you look at pure stats, I'm being unbelievably ungrateful. His record is amazing. But I always preferred peak mane to salah. Feel we need to be ruthless and take the oil money.Always borrow money from a pessimist. He won’t expect it back. Oscar Wilde

I wonder if Mo going to ACN might be a blessing in disguise for us? Individually, he'll be a huge loss and if he wasn't going, I'd still be playing him every week despite his current form. But I wonder if it could have the Gerrard effect, losing your best player forces others to step up and the team as a whole can improve.
The breakdown in play in final 3rd last few weeks has been bizarre, there has just been no cohesion. Everyone now saying they can't play together, but in preseason, Elliot, Mo and Nunez were all on the same wavelength and linking well and when the season started, Szobo came in and linked well with Mo and Nunez. This was winning us games, when our defence was still a bit shaky.
I don't know what the answer is, but I do know they didn't all suddenly become poor players overnight (Nunez was always poor, blah, blah blah...). Maybe when Mo goes though, others will step up and play with a bot more freedom (everything feels very forced ATM), or maybe the forced positional changes might unlock some hidden potential. His goals and assists will be hugely missed, but maybe this is exactly what we need to get the rest of our forwards fully firing. If we are all only happy when we are really winning in the end, when your race finishes, what life would that be?
