I'm not with this viewpoint at all, obviously I want us to win the league and CL, but with regards to Salah and VVD in particular I think letting them go likely means we have a massive step down in quality next year regardless of who might come in. There are also the financial implications (getting no fee for them), we would need to spend big on replacements which I don't see us doing, the alternative is to sign someone and be developing them as a replacement but this takes time and we don't seem to have started the process.

We are in such a strong position that losing our 2 best players at the same time would be insane.

I couldn't give a single **** about next season. I just want to win the league this year. After that what will be will be.

Hmmm. Does 'today' you really hate 'yesterday' you? Do you care about 'tomorrow' you? I want to win the league this year and for the next 4 years. I hate that City won four in a row. They don't deserve that accolade. We have to plan for the future and that plan has to involve success. Be flippant if you like, but you'd be moaning about it next season just like we all moan this season that we didn't make all the right decisions last season.

Salah has something like 40 G/A this season and we have one of the best defences thanks in no small part to VVD. Any drop off would have to be huge and rapid for them not to be in our side alot for at least the next couple of years

What I'm saying is I'm not fussed about next season. All my emotional eggs are in this one basket. After that, if he stays great, if he leaves so be it.

Yeah he’s at 40g/a

24 goals 17 assists in all competitions

20 goals in 23 league games

No post new years drop off either
