I don't hate people. I just feel better when they aren't around.

Will depend on possible replacement availability imo. If the club thinks that we have a worldie coming through the youth set up in a few years, then they might decide that Mo can be there until that guy progresses. Not sure that is the case tbh but a scenario like that would support not spending a wad of cash on a replacement right now. So let's say they thought that Doak, or that Rio lad we signed from Chelsea were going to be the future, then that would make sense to give Mo the 3 years.

If not, and they had someone lined up, then they might let him go. Let's say we signed someone we thought was going to be awesome - say Nico Williams from Bilbao - then we'd probably have the same outlay over 3 years as Salah, but be left with a 26 year old Nico Williams at the end of the 3 years.

          Some gamble though

            You could have Mo Salah

            Or

You could have this mystery box. The mystery box could contain any player. It might even contain which might contain Mo Salah

I love legacy, it’s why we stay loyal to supporting a team.

Signings and evolution are obviously important, but would I rather we move forward for the next 2 season with Virgil, Mo (and Trent for longer) whilst we integrate - yes I would.

Losing Trent will be a body blow. A kid who has been on a journey with us. A fan. A local lad… you don’t want to ever lose that. I’m hoping for a Stevie style about face from him come the end of the season.

Yeah ideally you keep Mo and replace a couple of the other attacking players with new younger players who are ready to go but need a couple of years to maybe hit the start of their peak.

Then you have the level below age wise with Doak and Rio type players.

By the time Mo goes you’d have Gakpo and which ever of the current group you keep at their peak, the new players ready to be top level players who take that step up to replace Mo and then the younger players pushing them and building their minutes gradually.

If we sold say two of Diaz, Nunez or Jota which seem the likely options to go and signed a couple players in the £30-50 range, similar to Mo, Mane, Jota, Diaz types. It would fit into the typical style the club goes for and age wise 21-23.

That seems to fit with the way Edwards wanted to do things once that great team started to age. Make sure the future planning is well on the way at all three levels age wise.

                        Suarez all day every day.

He was a better footballer than Salah, and made all his teammates around him a lot better than they were. He almost single handedly dragged us to a title ffs. He was an absolute freak. Did he even take penalties with us too? Salahs overall numbers are slightly inflated with the amount of pens he's taken.

You put Suarez in the Klopp era where we were constantly on the cusp of winning things and I very much doubt we lose some of those finals. His numbers under Klopp would've been off the charts.

Those saying Salah is loyal have their heads in the sand too. Not a chance he would've stayed for long playing with some of the dog**** that Suarez had to.

I agree Suarez is a better player and would have been epic in both the Klopp and Slot sides - he's more complete than Salah

However, he is a complete bell end and the drama he brought was never ending

So, in a choice between the two, its Salah every time for me, hands down

Suarez’s total assists for Liverpool over 4 years are less than Salah’s this season (3, 3, 5 and 12) Suarez was a force of nature but not buying into the ‘he made everyone around him better’ line. His talent with us was as an individual, he went on to become a more rounded team player at Barca.

Nor the loyalty angle. He agitated to go to Arsenal and left the second Barca were interested. Which is fair enough but not loyal.

Nor the dog**** he had around him. He was part of a team that should have won the League. That team had a poor defence but an unbelievable attack with Sturridge and Sterling.

He had no choice but to alter his game when he joined Barca

For the first time in his career he was no longer the best player in the team.

Didnt say he was loyal did i? I said there's no way Salah would've been so loyal if we hadn't been constantly winning things and he had the likes of Jon Flanagan, Charlie Adam, Jay Spearing, Andy Carroll, Martin Kelly, Dozy Enrique, Stewart ****ing Downing, Joe Allen, Fabio Borini, Simon Mignolet, Iago Arsepiss et al playing with him...

Assists aren't the only metric I'd use when judging if someone makes players around them better btw. Xabi made everyone around him better and he got **** all assists. Lots of Salah's assists are just because he's played the ball sideways to someone 5 yds away. He's not making them better on these occasions, he's just literally the last person to touch the ball

I get people love to hate Suarez. But don't kid yourselves. He's one of the best players ever to wear the shirt. It was short lived, but he was an animal, an absolute ****ing freak of a player.
