This is odd though. He's played as a right sided forward his entire career, and now that he looks ****e you think its the manager's fault for playing him there?
It wouldnt be the first time we shifted someone when they werent able to perform in their normal spot. Look at Gerrard. We moved him further back because he couldnt go a full match without dying and it worked out very good. For Salah I would say do the same thing. He clearly cant get passed his man but hes still good at shooting and holding the ball up, good for a forward role where he wont need pace.

Yes, so I dont fall under the biased category. And yet here I am saying we shouldnt crucify him. All we've seen are bad performances with little from the club on how to improve it, ie shifting positions. He's also struggled since he relied on good passes on the right. But all our right backs have been constantly broken so his service has been limited to 'heres the ball now run', compared to good passes where he can run with and do something. Most of the time the ball comes up and then is passed backwards, and when it is passed to him almost everytime the defender is in position to block him, so its a useless late pass. He cant run. So why are we still using him like this.

It was mentioned before how gakpo was benched, but he still came on as a sub and didnt go for 3 full games without playing. Konate who has been absolutely **** to the point where hes actually cost us games still seems to get on. Picture Salah's thoughts. And again, he could have found out hes being sold in january. I dont see why he'd be upset at a certain person who isnt Slot if it was just a case of being benched.

The club will need to get a handle on this right away. It is a good thing that he is ****ing off to Afcon after the weekend.

If I was Slot, then I would start him against Brighton. And sub him if he is playing ****e. Knowing Mo, he'll play a blinder and score a few goals.

The young players like Rio, Nyoni and others like Kerkez, Bradley and even Ekitike - it is setting a terrible example to them and adding to the tension that must be there already from the Jota death and ****e results.

Not sure about that mate. Gerrard has always been a central midfielder in the biblical sense, and if anything played further up with Torres before dropping back to his natural position when Suarez arrived. But I don't recall that being because he wasn't very good further forward

And there's a world of difference between a central midfielder occupying a slightly deeper role than a winger converting to a striker

I do agree that he's the best (was...) finisher at the club and in theory, playing as a striker might get better out of him; but at 33 we need to plan for life without him and I'm not sure converting him to a striker does that
I saw a dead fish on the pavement and thought "what did you expect?"

The theory that he found out he was being pimped in january is something I believe in. Its very similar to when Alonso found out they were trying to sell him off. Although Salah hasnt said he wants to leave, which is the big thing. He said he'll be going, which is different. Came out at the end of last match and waved to the fans for a few minutes. Not the sort of behaviour someone does who is pissed and demands to leave. No doubt why the other players are liking the photo. They dont see him as some traitorous mouthy person like people here.

I blame slot and management for playing him in a position that he cant play in anymore. Should have put him as a striker with a free roam ability. He's good at getting shots off instantly, so why bother putting him outwide and making him run in when you know he cant. Its proper braindead management. Just for the record, I wanted him sold last season. But I think you lot are a little too harsh on him.

One thing I can give him is at least hes still training, unlike ****ing isak who sat on his arse for months and became useful for us.
Klopp tried playing him there at one point IIRC and he didn't want to, he prefers playing from the right. I think if he were a CF this would be less of an issue, because as a CF you are much less likely to have a CB running off you and needing to track him compared to playing as a RW where fullbacks are looking to get forward.

The guy is an LFC legend, but this episode leave me feeling uncomfortable as he isn't being a team player or looking out for the interests of the club. He is looking out for himself. To my mind he is wanting to control the narrative, I don't think he wants to be a squad player and stick around on the bench playing every now and then, starting games but mostly coming off the bench, because that suggests that he hasn't go it anymore, and he probably feels that scuppers any good move (which was probably going to happen in the summer anyway), if he can paint Slot or the suits at LFC as the bad guys forcing him out he could get that big move in January and keep his legacy.
The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

He didn’t need to go public with his under the bus comments and sensationalism to get a January move. If he had been an adult about it rather than throwing his toys out of the pram we may have been able to sell him at a premium to Saudi in January.

Now they know he wants away, they are probably going to low ball us.

That’s on Salah. He is a legend but this is selfish, egotistical behaviour.
We are here for a good time not a long time....

Yeah spend 200m on strikers and play an unproven ageing former wide player there instead.

Re Mo’s picture post, I think if anyone was in any doubt about his objective with the interview, he’s obviously seen the reaction of the club, so doing this premeditated and determined act is beyond doubt that he’s trying to garner sympathy. If some-one was trying to get him iut of the club does he think this will change his mind? Does he hope it will win a starting position v brighton? He could no doubt have just gone home, so credit for still training, but that is not going to help his cause at all. I know some fans are in his side, but that seems to be related to their distaste for Slot. Look at his actions in isolation and it’s pretty poor. Maybe he’s going for an ironic ynwa reaction.

Incidentally a guy in a red hat with an uncanny resemblance to Mo just walked past me
, so perhaps he’s now out on the lash like me.

Only one of those strikers is doing well. I'd prefer to put salah at front than isak at this point. And with Wirtz finally starting to get comfortable, having him just behind Salah and feeding him fast direct balls could really benefit.

Dreading the Brighton game. Best case scenario is we beat them comfortably with Mo getting the last ten mins to say his goodbyes. Worst case is they beat us comfortably with Mo on the bench or in the stands and the Kop singing his song. If the latter happens then Slot is a goner.

He stated in his interview he is going to have them in the ground regardless of whether he plays or not as he wants them to see him wave goodbye to the fans at the game.
I don't hate people. I just feel better when they aren't around.
