No but i can blame systems that rely on playing footballers out of position and which are utterly reliant on them playing out of position

We got past them numerous times. Come on. We couldn't finish. We could have won by 4 or 5.
      Are we winning?

I'm always fascinated by how people see such different things from the same match. My theory is that there is so much to take in that end up forgetting some things and remembering others with undue significance. And we all remember and forget things differently, often caused by what we are expecting to see.

I thought Henderson was a negative, he spent far too much of the time sitting alongside Lovren he was that deep. Against one striker the 'DM' really shouldn't be trying to play the quarter back roll, he should have been 20 yards further foward, receiving the ball from the CBs the other side of their most attacking player. Moreno was a mixed bag, he did well in the build up play, didn't take too many risks but linked up well with Coutinho especially. He fluffed his technique for a few crosses though which was wasteful.

I've had a beer (one beer) so I'm going to come out with a positive post for once.

I didn't think we were that bad actually, we're positive going forward. Perhaps a bit off with some of the finishing, gambling on balls could be better but it's only a matter of time before we batter the **** out someone, it's coming and it will happen soon.

The defence actually weren't that bad, I don't think we did too much wrong apart from maybe stepping up a bit too much when Moreno tried clearing a header, the free kick certainly wasn't the defence's fault and I am not a fan of that defence as you all know.

Karius is ****e though but so is Mignolet so what do you do?

Still lots of challenges within that team that need a lot of work, replacing or defensive work or both.

As for tonight, sometimes the ball just doesn't go in no matter what you do, it was one of them nights sadly. I think we will still go through and will beat Sevilla away fwiw.

We miss sitters regularly, good players but not clinical in front of goal.

Every team relies on a goalscorer. Someone who can get a goal when nobody else can. You name any team that wins the league that doesn't have a guy that bangs in 20 to 25 per season.

Same old story, rinse and repeat. (Not you, I mean the hard luck tales of Liverpool woe - could have, should have... we sound like ****ing evertonians)

When we are creating so much pressure and not scoring, I think that suggests that we are, but we don't have the right one.

Watching the highlights of Kane's finishing is making my eyes hurt. Apoel were all over Spurs yet Poch looks like a genius for that scoreline. Fine lines, eh?

We played alright, and we've created enough chances in these two games to win the bloody competition. They've not been the most clear cut of chances and we haven't finished them well enough.

                      Positive: Lovren did pretty well.

A couple of last points on this - still think we'll get through and probably will win all 4 games left!

Just seen the highlights again and if we headed the ball down we'd have battered them. The worst 'miss' of the lot was Bobby's pass behind Salah and Sturridge and finally we are going to absolutely BATTER someone when we click.

Just saw the Spuds highlights - what a difference Kane makes, they weren't great and he pops up with a hat trick. Great DOWNWARD header for his goal also.

On the plus side barring that goalkeeping mistakes I thought we were very compact and good defensively and we controlled the game from start to finish.
1.We need a top striker and a 2.Another mistake from the gk ... the team if anything is consistent in the deficiencies

I don't agree. We just have too much expectations maybe. These things just don't happen. They take time. There is still tomorrow or next week or next month or next year.

Which is the most infuriating thing. We knew these issues last season ffs
