going to make for a really interesting game.

If city try to start with a bang it's a big risk for them as they know LFC's forward line can hit them so fast on the counter and effectively kill the tie off.

The team just needs to be patient, there will be chances when city push too far and leave themselves exposed.

Also thought they were shockingly bad at defending the crosses whipped in during the first game, had the beating of them in the air all over the pitch then.

I think they will definitely score but can't see them keeping us out if the 3 boys are fit and firing. City have some serious defensive problems. I think it's going to be another cracking game but can't see them being anywhere near as poor as they were in the first leg. I think we might have some nail biting moments ahead of us.
They have to play better than they did in the first leg, despite losing yesterday they did play really well in the first half, they could (and should) have been more than 2-0 up. I also wonder if at 2-0 they thought that the game was won and tried to switch focus to Tuesday. If they play like they did in the first half yesterday we are going to be in for a very tough game.
The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

They have conceded 6 goals in the last two games against teams who went at them, we are one of the best teams in the world right now at going at defences. We score a single goal we go through, we will score against a team playing open flowing football, it will happen. Nothing is done until its done but its very much in our hands and we have all the tools to get the job done. All we need now is the Hammers to take points off Chelsea tonight and it will be an almost perfect weekend

We’ll be fine as long as the ref stays completely impartial and doesn’t give the 50/50s to Man City to make the game more ‘interesting’

Only way we don't go through here is if we get a man sent off early again. Even if we were 1 or 2 down early there's no reason to panic, a goal for us kills it. Just like at Old Trafford in the Europa where they had us on the ropes for a little while, we equalise then it ends up being played like a friendly for the next 45mins. These are a spineless, gutless, nothing club, we are European royalty and will be going through.

The ref in the first leg was such a breath of fresh air from the dog**** PL standard. Is it the same ref again for second leg?

Yep, was very nice. A glimpse of our potential if we weren't handicapped by "honest mistakes" nearly every game. Unfortunately not, it's some Spanish fella who likes a clanger and the limelight apparently.

Yeah Sterling was atrocious like he is in most big games. Missed 2 sitters which would have nailed down the win. Think you're spot on about their focus. They got complacent and suddenly it was 2 all and City started to think... **** we better wake up but by then imo their legs were gone and they seemed knackered. And that's forgetting about the blatant pen and red card incident.

If you sit back against City you are asking for trouble. If you come out and play and force the game on them ... it seems to expose some pretty weak areas in their side. They are capable of scoring 3 or 4 against us but by the same token we could just aswell put 2 or 3 in against them... we need to start strong like we always do against them and take the chances when they come. I think a fully fit Salah mentally is massive for us... praying that is the case.

We are at our best when the opposition come to play, and this lot haven’t got a choice but to attack us. They won’t score 5, and they’d have to as we’ll surely get an away goal.

At least they won't park their bus in this game.
                            Really?

they will have to get the metro to the ground, bus is in the garage for 'modifications'

removing all the weak links makes us stronger

too many gutless players, no beef or desire. pussies everywhere... sack them all.

While there were some unfamiliar faces in Liverpool’s starting XI, the midfield was a rarity, featuring solely regulars. Yet this was not normal. Gini Wijnaldum had Jordan Henderson’s usual berth at the base while the captain operated further forward. It is an experiment first adopted in pre‑season and revived with some haste because with Henderson suspended and Emre Can a doubt, the Dutchman may have to anchor the midfield against Manchester City in the Champions League. “That was obviously the plan to use the chance and it was good,” said Jürgen Klopp. “Gini is a brilliant player for an attacking wide midfielder. He is creative, he is good with the ball, he has good vision and he can jump to the roof.” It is a very Kloppian strategy, to use a box-to-box midfielder as the holding player. It reflects his brand of front‑foot football, but Liverpool and Wijnaldum may be on the back foot against City. Richard Jolly
