    EDIT: re the bitterness.

The thing that’s funny is that it wasn’t even close.

    5-1 FFS.

They are basically claiming theoretical goals that they would have gone on to score had it been 2-0 at half time

Actually fair enough. I think a yellow is the right decision but watching it back again, he did fly very close to the line, if not clearly overstepping it.

I think the point is, if those goals stood or did not stand it would have been a very different game, I tend to agree. But hey they did'nt and we are through. deservedly so

        So proud of this team

Still don't think there was much chance of us not scoring, even if they'd gone 4 up tbh.

But the narrative seems to be that officials prevented City fluking a goal near halftime. And that not fluking a goal makes them unlucky. Interesting logic.

Yeah, but it would have been a very different game, the assumption being, one that City dominated. Maybe not? Maybe they go 2 up, and that gets us fired up and we score earlier in the second half.

The narrative for this come back began the second the final whistle blew at Anfield, though city were decent first half, the commentary and build up was embarrassing. We were in a commanding position and that was barely mentioned.

It was touched upon briefly (mainly by Gerrard) but Pep blew it with his tactics, both legs. Even first half last night they looked dangerously exposed at the back when we pressed and it seemed unlikely that such an attacking line up would go unpunished.

Second half, they were still only chasing two goals, and I thought we were actually pretty comfortable all half, I dont recall a single save. I dont see how it being 1 or 2 nil (at half time) to them makes that much difference as they needed goals in either scenario. And ultimately didn't get near them.

The biggest issue is the season long narrative that they are the best team in history has been well and truly exposed.

I'm actually glad he wasn't sent off. I don't like red cards, I'm glad we won 11 vs 11.

Their goal was onside, that was the only poor decision really. Yes, Salah was off, but it was cm's, incredibly difficult decision. Their goal last week was offside, not sure why its mentioned! VVD was fouled by Sterling, levels it up and the ref gave us **** all during the 2nd leg.

A bit random, but who did Roma replace Salah with?
If we are all only happy when we are really winning in the end, when your race finishes, what life would that be?

Players came out wanting the ball, showing for it, playing to feet and attempting dribbles. Wijnaldum was much better in the 2nd half and Salah
I'm also amazed that he didn't make any subs - we were being totally outnumbered in midfield and couldn't get or keep the ball - and he stuck with it - he's one cool and confident dude
