Liverpool vs Roma - Champions League Semi Final (1st Leg)
History will show last night to be one of the greatest performances in CL history. For an hour, I have not witnessed a team play better. We were a machine. Relentless. Roma were in shreds.
that dominant period was a masterclass, it will be used as a tutorial to illustrate full team pressing and attacking as a group.
the best 60 minutes of football ever... quite possibly.
removing all the weak links makes us stronger
too many gutless players, no beef or desire. pussies everywhere... sack them all.
^ the replay in that clip totally shows the unheralded work from our midfielders. Roma player has to turn because pass is not on due to Milner. Runs into Henderson hunting him down. Henderson wins the ball nudging it towards Gini who then wins a 50/50. Passing it to Mane on to Firmino who looks for the machine. Then goal.
Bar their two goals that performance was up there with the Notts Forest match.
My eldest lad who's away in college texted me at half time saying he only got to tune in at 30 minutes and thought he was watching highlights of the first half. Said it was all shots and goals!

It was mental wasn't it? If we had been calmer we could easily have been about 8-0 up. They weren't half chances they were all brilliant chances.
Slept on it and in reflection I still feel that subbing Mo handed them the initiative, gave them a 20 minute lifeline....shame really that Klopp didn’t leave that sub until at least the 80th minute...anyway it’s done and I fully expect us to win again in Rome
We always seem to lose momentum when Mo gets subbed and the opposition tend to gain in confidence.
