Some genuinely seem more arsed about getting top 4 than basically having one foot in a CL Final. It's utterly bizarre and I truly loathe "top 4" and the obsession with it in this country. You'd think clubs would cease to exist and not be able to sign one good player if they don't get in. (And before some bellend like Spud Gun replies, yes I'm aware we are in the CL now because we got the famous top 4 spot last season)

I'd say some of those you mention would be the owners.

Kenny last won a trophy and it didn't stop him getting sacked for league failure.

Whatever happens, becoming a European regular is crucial to the club whether you want trophies or the suits want to drive revenue.

All the cycles and all the progress exist to get us to precisely the CL position we are in right now. We literally define the club by how many European Cups we win.

I suspect it will nee moot, we will be top 4 for next season anyway before the CL final though (caveat caveat, assuming we get there).

Get the CL Semi out of the way and focus our wrath on Chelsea an Mo getting some revenge for getting binned off by them a few years ago.

This is a chance that doesn't come around that often, we've made 7 finals and the European Cup started in what the 1950s or 60s? No wonder the players don't looked arsed playing some nothing club like West Brom or Stoke. Loads on here bang on about "projects" "time" and ****, well right now we have a chance (a great one) to win the biggest club competition on the planet and who knows when that will ever come around again, could be 3 years, 20 years or even never so all resources should go on that.

Ah I misread the previous comment and though it said we'd lost every final since we last won one rather than since 2012.

**** or bust for me. Top 4 is important but it only qualifies us to go through another 13 match run whereas we have two matches left right now with an excellent chance of getting to the final.

We should be good enough to hold off Chelsea and beat Brighton. If we lose to Chelsea we can still finish 4th with a win at Brighton or we can draw both and finish 4th.

That said, we can go balls deep as we'll have loads of rest before the final.
