So, just sitting on the sidelines help's a player see the game and improve his understanding eh
Some of our bench must have a masters in tika taka by now.
Someone should sign Melo immediately based on that
Me, I’m either planning a holiday or I’m on one.

Liverpool midfielder Curtis Jones says the current England Under-21 side is "one of the best I've seen" after they opened their European Championship campaign with victory over the Czech Republic.

I mean... ok. A man with much experience.

Just had a quick look at their first team yesterday and pretty sure he has more caps than anyone.

What an odd thing to pick up on.

Normally is a manager of 20 years saying it, it has some meaning?

He made his u21 debut in Oct 2020. So the best team in 2 and a half years. Best I have ever seen... Well... it made me chuckle.

Its was a slow day gazing at spreadsheets for nearly 10 hours. It seemed funny at the time.

Was half expecting to see Milner on the teamsheet as an overage player, when I checked.

Millie got the last of his 46 caps (a record) at u21 in 2009. Got his last full cap in 2016... 7 years ago, when he retired to focus on Liverpool.

Now if he had been quoted saying that...

Even as an under age player ( say from 14 or 15 year & up ) he’d have been watching the U21’s side no doubt so he’s not saying that I’ve played with is he. Get back to your spreadsheets

Must be pushing to make team of the tournament, yet still dismissed by many for other players there who haven't been half as good.

                      From the UEFA site:

"Leader on the pitch, excellent positionally, reads the game well and has brilliant distribution in attack."

He’s growing as a player which is great - what we need from him is availability, he’s missed loads of games with really unusual injuries. I think he’ll be a valuable long term member of the squad

He's 22. He should be bossing the kids

We should sell him and buy him back for £60m

So are most of the players there, particularly from the bigger nations. Spain has one starter tonight at 21, nearly all 23.

It would be typical that he returns from this tournament injured.

But the signs have definitely been very encouraging since he started seeing this specialist and changed his training methods.
