Replacing Coutinho with a CB last January (albeit a world class CB) is what is hurting us.
I don't think that trade off hurt us, on balance VVD is more important than Coutinho. Ox being injured is what has hurt his in terms of being farther ahead, but we are still having a fantastic season.

Hendo was great vs Bayern but he's only a worker. When he doesn't have legs he's poor.

Hendo has mostly been substandard but with the occasional great performances.

Neither should be involved from next year.
Agreed. Milner has more ability than Hendo and his time at this level is up now.

That's right he is a 'worker' at this level on today's game you need midfielders with skill who also work hard.

We are having a fantastic season but if we don't win the title it will be not replacing Coutinho that will be a massive factor.

We also don't have unlimited resources so I think we have made the best decisions that we could have.

3 workers which is admirable but unfortunately a severe lack of class, guile, skill to break teams down that sit against us. Lack of balance.

It will be down to those corrupt cheating financial doping cunts at the end of the East lancs. Imagine going through a season with only 1 defeat, a record number of points and it counting for nothing as the league has been totally skewed.

Settling for Shakiri instead of buying Fekir could prove costly. Naby hasn't worked out as expected either.
Brandt - Keita - Van Dijk - Sessegnon

I wonder what the instructions to Shaq were. He got it so deep and out wide. How can he possibly score from there?

Great at what exactly? One decent ball over the top to Salah during a slow-paced euro game where the visitors came to do a containment job and went home after their keeper barely made a save of note? At least the one-good-ball-per-game wasn't his usual party piece of sweeping it in diagonally from the corner of the penalty box.

I think that is the problem, we have 3 players in the midfield who can work, but offer very little going forward, I have said before that I worry about the lack of goal threat from midfield, the 3 guys who started today are 2-3 goal a season players, the same really goes for Milner from CM (if he's not taking pens obviously), Keita has shown elsewhere that he is capable of goals from midfield but hasn't really settled here yet, OX who is out, which just leaves Shaqiri, if Bobby is out for a while then he might be playing in the forward roles rather than midfield.

I think that for the next game we have to have more creativity in midfield than Fabinho, Wijnaldum and Henderson offer, and Henderson is the obvious one to miss out based on form.
The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.
