I’ve just spent about an hour going back through most of this thread have watched the last ten mins and the celebrations which I’ve got recorded about 10 times (had forgotten about absolutely shocking Kane dive in injury time btw).

For anyone curious, the ref locker room conversation at HT was something like this;

"He [Sissoko] had it [arm] like this, right?"

I really enjoyed hearing the ref stuff (not the Croatian conversation obviously which I could only guess at, although correctly as it happens - thanks Fuzzy).

It's high time they followed other sports and broadcast it for everyone to hear. I reckon the likes of the PL are scared that our high esteem for professional footballers might be tarnished if we knew what they were saying to the ref'.

Let's face it, that ship has already sailed. Who could possibly think they are genuinely still protecting the players from accusations that many are foul mouthed morons merely by preventing us from hearing from them directly? In fact wouldn't their demeanour improve if they knew we could hear them?

Everytime I see this thread there is still one thing that I can't get my head around, I've had weeks for it to make sense but it still doesn't, we beat Tottenham to win our 6th European Cup. Tottenham, I mean WTF? Tottenham making the CL final still just doesn't make sense to me.

Poor *******s must be having such a flat summer after that. They know they'll probably never get there again. I can't wait for our first game against them, I think they'll be a nice spirit between the fans, and then we'll sing Allez Allez non stop throughout the game

This is why I really wanted Ajax.

Literally, having a bland, boring club like Spurs in the final spoilt the build-up for me, and also, the prospect of losing against them.

I'm just glad we got the job done.

They qualified for the competion like us and all the other teams. They made it through the group stages after seemingly being all but out. They had some great results over two legs in knock out stages. For me they were worthy opponents and even small teams deserve a break occasionally

Yes, don't think I have an issue with the opposition either. They had as much a right to be there as we did. Am sure many questioned our place this year and particularly last.

Most important thing was we won.

I think we would have annihilated Ajax

They would have played right into our trap, they would have come out quick and we would have picked them off

Our midfield would have just rolled over theirs and our attacking players would have had a field day down the flanks where they were incredibly slow

Spurs for me was a more difficult proposition, it prompted us to be more cautious and careful and the early goal only increased that. That said have watched the match a couple of times and for all this **** about Spurs being the better side they didnt threaten our goal till the 75th minute and we created by far the best chances and opportunities throughout the game
