Liverpool vs Spurs - Saturday Night bonanza

AFCON has impacted both Sadio and Mo… neither the same since they came back. If they were both firing on all cylinders we’d have won that… Salah lucky that Bobby is injured and Jota is playing worse than him.

I disagree and looking at what Klopp is saying now, there is going to be no compromise.
      Are we winning?

Disappointing. I would of took the league over the other 3 this year…

I don't think we meant to be blunt up top and lacking ideas, or physically and mentally exhausted in the 2nd half. That's not on purpose, it's just part and parcel of a brutal run of fixtures for any squad ever assembled. I'm not annoyed at all, there's a reason why it's so hard to win the quad and we have seen tonight what happens even when world class players are stretched to their absolute limits.

They did, but countless blocks too. Wasn't all crosses. The recovery Royal made when diaz got a shot off towards the end was a great example
            He was brilliant I thought.

Interesting that Spurs have out scored us this year. They are no mugs

Salah won us many points with a bit of magic but he looks “normal” these days - I’d like to see him back up his big talk with performances tbh. Trent defended really well but was wasteful when attacking

I still see City dropping points - away to Wolves and West Ham will be tough for them but they’ll have rest. I think if we win tonight they may have shat the bed tomorrow - their heads must be gone and carrying injuries + tired legs also

Not over but much harder now
Yeah, I didn’t think we showed much fatigue, just a lack of quality.

I’m not hating on the guy, but it feels like we’re waiting for the real Mo Salah to appear and win us these trophies. He seems to think he’s guaranteed a place in the CL final and also has the super Mo to the rescue fantasies, but that’s starting to look like a bit of a gamble at the moment. We seem more invested in him that he is with us with the contract dragging on. He was unique, but lots of teams have a salah like the one since the AFCON. He’s being massively out-salah’s by Diaz and with Bobby coming back to fitness I’m not sure it’s a gamble we should be taking without some glimpses of magic before the final.

Annoyingly it means that City only need a draw against Newcastle to jump back ahead of us.

We showed fatigue in the 2nd half imo and understandably so, first half we pressed the life out of them. 2nd half the tempo dropped on and off the ball and the last 15 were a breeze for Spurs. Trent, Robbo, Mane and Mo were so slow to release the balls all night, taking heavy touches and making wrong decisions.

Would mean we're as we were before this weekend. Would absolutely take that.

Still not finished. There's a chance City's frame of mind might be ****ed a little bit getting booted out of the CL, albeit a small one.

Yeah - could go either way that one. Either fatigued (like us) or motivates as this is all they have to play for.

KDB is so crucial for them.

A statement win from Newcastle would be nice.

Do you know what. If we don't win it we don't win it. I'm immensely proud of this team, we've won a cup already. In the final of the FA Cup and CL. I'd take any of that if you'd have asked me at the start of the season.

I'm still hopeful City will drop points before the season is up, someone will spring a shock against them I'm sure.

Forget about it. Newcastle aren't taking any points from that game. City will be over their CL downer after us dropping points tonight. We had a great opportunity to pile on even more misery tonight but let them off the hook. They won't exactly be buzzing but they'll be extra motivated knowing they can open up a 3 point gap and overtake our goal difference.
