So people will probably think this is mad but I think the off the pitch stuff and lack of atmosphere because fans hadn't made it in and those who had largely didn't give a **** about the result. The atmosphere with LFC at finals particularly Euro finals is usually electric. That lack of atmosphere probably affected the players in some way too.Originally posted by ronanm View PostThis match still hurts. How the fk did we lose it?The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

Having been at the ground on that horrible night - that is the most accurate so far.Originally posted by spud_gun View Posthttps://www.theguardian.com/football...ampions-league
Fantastic piece of reporting about the chaos surrounding the CL Final.
The appalling organisation, heavy handed police response and the scapegoating.
Utterly sickening series of events.

I feel like they glossed over the trouble after the match a little bit which is a shame, as that was the scariest bit for me..but I guess there is much less video evidence of this

Obviously the crowd management failings being a danger to life is the most important aspect. However, I found the fact that UEFA, the official regulator and governing body of the sport we play and the competition that we were participating in, immediately labelled the delay to be a ‘security issue’ and laid the responsibility with late fans without any understanding of what happened. They instinctively jumped to covering their own arses at our expense.
Continuation of rant: EUFA and FIFA have no regard for football fans, in fact they treat them with disdain for the most part. Who the **** to they think they are? They’re supposed to be the governing bodies and custodians of a mainly grass roots sport but they’re just massive corporate cunts milking a cash cow and robbing the public blind. Completely corrupt, self aggrandising and occasionally incompetent; if clubs and fans can’t trust the governing body to work in their interests, they need a new governing body.Last edited by Kenneth; 21-09-22, 10:09 PM.Trey Nyoni: countdown to stardom-2 years1year0.5 years

Wouldn't it be glorious if Klopp said this on the day he retires from football.Originally posted by Kenneth View PostObviously the crowd management failings being a danger to life is the most important aspect. Timely
Uefa’s statement apparently blaming Liverpool supporters for causing the delay to the start of the Champions League final in Paris was prepared a considerable time before the day of the match, the Guardian has learned. The statement, put up on the big screen at the Stade de France, announced that a delay to the scheduled 9pm kick-off of the final between Liverpool and Real Madrid had been caused by “late arrival of fans”.
The statement blaming late arrival of fans was decided on in the planning stages of the match, as the one likely to be used in the event of kick-off having to be delayed, the Guardian understands. At the end of the match Uefa made a second statement, blaming “thousands of fans” at the Liverpool end with “fake tickets” for the kick-off delay.Trey Nyoni: countdown to stardom-2 years1year0.5 years

You're right, at the highest levels of the game match going fans are an inconvenience to the governing bodies.
