At 1am on Sunday morning, on my own waiting for an Uber to arrive, I'd have voted for Marine Le-****in-Pen myself to be honest.Originally posted by badpiggy View PostMarine Le Pen making hay on it. Obviously for her the problem is the immigrants of St Denis. A simplistic handy call for her but will sit well with all those who are scared to go there.

The stadium is near an area of high density apartment housing, much of it social housing. France, and many places to be fair, has a tendency to effectively ghettoise it’s immigrant population, and it’s non-immigrant underclass, into such areas which can cause problems with criminality and gangs. One of the world’s biggest and highest profile events turns up on the doorstep and it’s seen as rich pickings.Originally posted by wiw View PostCan't believe no one is responding to these posts. It's disgraceful how that was policed and managed. Still haven't quite processed it all but they shouldn't be allowed to host another final. Not after thatYou can understand why the right wing is on the rise, saw some parts of Paris that were ****ing grim and as for the whole getting into the ground it was a ****ing joke. We got lucky we managed to circumnavigate the narrow gap they were funnelling fans through below the underpass by jumping over the barriers into the main road and then climbing back over beyond the narrow channel, also just been sent some footage of the gate where we entered by, my god we were lucky because they shut the gates at some point after we entered and were pepper spraying indiscriminately at the fans waiting to get in.Originally posted by frank the tank View PostAt 1am on Sunday morning, on my own waiting for an Uber to arrive, I'd have voted for Marine Le-****in-Pen myself to be honest.

There were a few lying motionless on the floor near gate Y. And in the worst of the crush people were being lifted to safety on top of the media vehicles parked alongside the fencing.Originally posted by frank the tank View PostTo be honest it is lucky there was nobody killed.
A friend of mine thought that someone did near him in the crowd after being pepper-sprayed..... the fella just has some sort of fit and went white as a sheet
Brought back horrendous memories of hillsborough for me and I had a bit of a meltdown in the crush myself before I pulled myself together and endured it.
Could have been much much worse. And if I ever see the copper who tear gassed me for standing in the queue peacefully I fear I’ll murder the *******. I’ll never forget his smirking face.

Funny how quickly they felt the need to do so once people linked to their sponsors came out and said they were pepper sprayed, tear gassed and mugged.Originally posted by npinn001 View PostInvestigation opened by Uefa. Let's see

Seems those things are true when said by wealthier folk but made up when said by folk with less financial clout. Whoda thunk it.I don't hate people. I just feel better when they aren't around.

Given the backdrop it is definitely helpful, in terms of meaningful action, that this chaos and danger was also experienced by the Real supporters. It shouldn't be an issue, but it is.
What an absolute ****-show.
As Kelly Cates mentioned yesterday, there was seemingly enough time and budget to ensure a fully branded stadium was good to go with fireworks, and a pre show from Camila Caballo with full entourage and dancers, but not enough effort time or money was put into the safety of those going to the game.
Disgraceful on numerous levels.
Also the statements that were released, instantly blaming the fans are an absolute disgrace. We've been here before.Modifying post.
