31 isn't young but it's certainly not old either. We don't rely on Salah's pace so much now but we don't need to as his game intelligence, passing range and eye for goal are so good.Originally posted by Charly View PostIt really isnt. Most footballers are on their last professional contracts. Very few are competeing at the top, especially ones whio rely on pace. Salah can adapt and has shown that, but sometimes there can be a sharp decline.
But 31 is not "young" [emoji16]
Worth noting that Son Heung-min is only one month younger than Salah and I don't see him slowing down either."We oil the jaws of the war machine and feed it with our babies."

It goes back to what Buzzo says, despite leading the way and breaking all sorts of goal scoring records, some people will still obsess over what he didn't do.
I know you aren't one of those people SB, but to criticise his assist stats this year in particular is a little obsurd.
Its bizarre. Feels like its only ever Liverpool fans that say Mo could do better. MadnessI saw a dead fish on the pavement and thought "what did you expect?"
There's no water round here stupid, should have stayed where it was wet

Thought I'd replied this earlier, but evidentially not. Mental day.Originally posted by SB View PostNo like I said though he could have so many more assists , especially for Nunez instead of trying to score the 1%’s all the time. I just find that part of his game very frustrating
The gist of it was that Salah's self-belief and obsession with scoring is what makes him the player he is.
Also, he was mm's away from another assist on Sunday which would have put him joint top in the league on that front. Yes, it's frustrating when he overlooks an easy pass to try and score himself, yes it's frustrating when he keeps cutting in and barely troubles the keeper with those left foot curlers, but there is a reason he gets so many opportunities to score, there is a reason he finds himself in great positions to set players up (or not), it's because he's world class at what he does. Similarly, when people laugh/criticise Nunez for missing high volumes of chances, it completely ignores the effort and skill to constantly get himself in these positions, which is often harder than the finish itself.
Salah's numbers speak for themselves. Yes we can look at isolated incidents and say they could be better if he did x or y differently, but that works both ways. How many goals or assists might we lose out on if he played it differently, if he wasn't so single minded and ruthless? If we are all only happy when we are really winning in the end, when your race finishes, what life would that be?
