I wish some of the PC journos would grow a pair and ask him how an opposition player can basically take out one whole team from a throw in? Do most people really see how ****ing abysmal the team is set up. Surely this can’t be just the players not following instructions, either way I can not see a world where he stays on. If they do want him to stay they will have to seriously back him again and probably offer a new contract in the summer.

Right now it seems we have reached the bottom and our points of view are very clouded.

FSG are long term thinkers and they have done ell by Liverpool.

Lets see what happens. Right now I struggle however with the feeling that we have been on a downward spiral since April 2025 and I think that coaching has alot to do with this. If he is to stay he should certainly look at this aspect of his backroom staff.

Slots either going or signing a new contract. His runs out in just over a year. Not a single mention even of talks.

        He’s cooked.
        Modifying post.

Reading between the lines, I think he will start next season and a decision will be made either way come January.

Edwards and Hughes also run until 2027 and reports are that both don't want to renew so maybe its best for Slot to depart this summer

I suspect this is more of a message to the players; “work with the manager, don’t think there’s an easy way out, an easy excuse, we need to focus on getting CL qualification this season.”

                  Yeah, that'll go well.

Its Slots tactics that have ****ed everything.

We are not going to attract top talent this year (or maybe thats for the best)

                    Insane, just insane.

I am now furious at Hughes and Edwards too, this is just sabotage at this point. ****ing clowns trying to be too clever, Slot has definately lost at least part of the dressing room if not all of it, and probably about 90% of the fans, he'll be hounded out when we fail to reach CL places.

FSG are undoing a decade of work.

What would you expect him to say? It’s fairly normal for managers to say these types of things right up until the point they are sacked.

What do you want him to say? I know the majority want me out and are counting the days until I leave?

He has to say stuff like that regardless of what he knows imo.

Plus we all know what any statement regarding the full suport of club owners/upper management is worth. Loads of examples of managers getting the full backing of the baord only for said manager to be out the door within a few weeks/months.

This feels like a dangerous approach, how good a start to the season does he need to have to keep his job, or how bad a start does he need to have to be sacked?

We have been averaging 1.58 points per game over the whole season, if you take out the first 5 games it's 1.30 over the next 26.We are currently on course for a 60 point season if we stick to 1.58pts/game (which is less than Arsenal and City have now).

To go into next season with Slot in charge the club really have to thing form is going to improve massively on what we are seeing at the moment otherwise that is a massive risk. We are either writing off next season or we are looking for a new manager mid-season if things don't improve significantly. Someone like Alonso isn't going to stick around on the off chance that we sack Slot in October or November so the pool of managers available is likely to be significantly reduced.

Well If we dont beat Fulham on Saturday one can say we are in a real crisis and certainly wont finish in the top 5 based on our other games we must play. The further knock to the mojo after a poor result on Saturday would mean we would not recover.

One positive point is that Isak is back and has something to prove. Salah will have something to prove.

If we dont put in a half decent performance then I think its decision time. 70m quid for the champions league is good money for anyone right??

I wonder who these briefings are coming from. If it’s Hughes and Edwards then that’s one thing because in the end they might not be the ones making the final decision and their jobs could be on the line as well. Especially considering they are both off this time next year. Edwards came back for the multi club crap and now that’s off will he stay or do they need both of Edwards and Hughes.

And it seems a bit risky to go into next season knowing both Edwards and Hughes are 100% off at the end of it and Slot having no new deal.

How can you go into a new season with so much uncertainty about the manger who only has 1 year left on his deal. What are you saying to any potential new signing about that.
