If he did stay, he has been here for 2 seasons already.
Can anyone say for certain how the team will set out next season?
After 2 years Klopp and even Rodgers had a system that they had faith in.
I wonder how many more players we need to make Slott's system functional, or if he will change it up next season.
I really dont think he will still be here. This season hasnt just been about the poor results, its about the woeful performances. The players look clueless a lot of the time.
I suspect there will be a lot of unhappy players should he stay, not to mention the fans are close to a revolt.
If we win every game unti lthe end of the season, thenmaybe he will have an argument, but I just dont see FSG risking another couple hundred of million after this season. In the beginning, Fowler created the Heaven and the Earth.

I think it comes down to the mitigating circumstances, the Jota situation, but also the not replacing Diaz, the not getting Guehi or another CB over the line, who do they consider responsible for that, Slot or Hughes/Edwards? I could see all scenarios being in play here (him Staying, him being sacked or him walking away). I think it is still up in the air, a strong finish to the league season would suggest he had fixed the problems and then it makes pushing him out less likely, we could see us finish 3rd, if things went our way.
The right result tomorrow night and we are in a CL semi final, at that stage anything could happen. Win the CL (still unlikely) and it's unlikely he would be pushed out. On the other hand defeats to Everton and Man Utd could see things turn toxic...The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

Too many injury prone players were signed as well.
In general, I don’t like the idea of spending close to 100 mil on a player because even if they have the quality, they are all one bad injury away from never regaining it.
It seems a smarter bet to me to sign more players in a cheaper bracket (40-65mil)
You can still get very very good players for that sort of money.
There isn’t enough pace in the team anymore, particularly in the wide areasY.N.W.A!!!!!!

Not a chance - even without the injuries it takes time for a team to gel but you can't ignore the following:Originally posted by 5europeancups View PostWe are fifth and in the qf of the CL because we had a great squad ans spent 400m not because of the coach. I am sure the management realise this. We should have walked the league this year. The overall standard has been shocking
Losing Jota
Losing Diaz
Losing Bradley
Losing Leoni
Salah has been ****
VVD has dropped off a cliff
Macca - ditto above
Ibou - ditto above
Isak hasn't got going at all through one reason or another
Frimpong has been so injury prone
Wirtz & Kerkez being thrown in without being given the time to acclimatise to being at LFC
Alisson being injured
You simply cant ignore the above - it's been as **** season & Slot has to take more than his share of the blame but there are certain exonerating circumstances
Also Slot has been completely blind to the way the game has become so set piece based & his style of football can't deal with it & he hasn't been able to figure it out - not sure if he ever will tbh
I'd have been happy with a CL spot & hopeful of some silverware at the start of the season - still think we'll struggle for eitherWhat do you mean it could've been anyone? Name me one person who's got a grudge against penguins

Just noticed that the so called new manager boost at Man U is now nothing of the sort.
The exact same amount of points taken over the past six games as we have, but they have scored less.
Villa have gotten 5 points less then us over the past six games and Chelsea have 6 points less in the same period.
We play all three of them in our next five league games (plus Everton). Really good chance of pushing for third spotI don't hate people. I just feel better when they aren't around.

Yeah but they won 6 or his first 7 games, we only need a new manager bounce for about 6 or 7 games, that's the point
Jokes aside, the league is so poor and everyone is ****ing up. It's a great chance to get Champs League because of the spots available too, it's open to several teams and gonna be some tough away ones vs Everton, Villa and Mancs.Last edited by danperkins; 14-04-26, 10:51 AM.

The league is both poor and strong at the same time this year.
Poor, imo of course, in terms of genuine quality of play but very strong due to the gaps between the traditional big teams and the so called lesser teams narrowing even further so that pretty much any team is capable of beating a "big" team.
Who would have thought that **** house football and snide cynical tactics would prove to be such an equalizer over a prolonged period and not just for once off games.
Will be genuinely fascinating to see if a team can get ahead of the curve with regards to what will work best against a league of diving groks as the first team to do that is going to be like a shark amongst a shoal of sardines imo.
As to the new manager bounce...great if you get six or seven wins in a row, but you might also get something like Spurs where not one but two new managers in a row did not get that bounce. Three if you include De Zerbi losing his first game as manager there.Last edited by Doc_Piptorious; 14-04-26, 11:35 AM.I don't hate people. I just feel better when they aren't around.

You could see Klopp system in one game. I never forget that game against Spurs. We didnt win but it was clear from get go what the approach was.Originally posted by Charly View PostIf he did stay, he has been here for 2 seasons already.

I dont see an identity to this team.Jacques Brel is alive and well and playing at Anfield

We'll know at the end of the season whether it was right to stick with Slot I suppose, the fact there are so many potential champs league spots open & everyone around us is incredibly inconsistent helps alot. It all comes back to, is there another guy than can get the best out of these players, clearly there is as a whole squad of top class players just can't turn utterly **** all at the same time. I'm pretty confident we will go out of the champs league tonight, we may just scrap a champs league spot & Slot will be gone in the summer. We'll see how it shakes out but imo, how he hasn't been sacked at this point is quite amazing, the results are one thing but the performances and lack of any sort of effective system, style of play and identity is more concerning. Praying for a miracle tonightOriginally posted by Doc_Piptorious View PostThe league is both poor and strong at the same time this year.

Been discussed many time, but I really don't think it is amazing at all.
One we are a club that tends to be clow to sack managers, especially those with some credit in the bank.
Secondly, and possibly the closest to the truth, would be that if we do want a change then the guy we want simply is not willing or able to move until the summer.
You know what would be wild though. Us winning the CL this year and then Slot handing in his notice after the final having won the league and CL in back to back seasons.I don't hate people. I just feel better when they aren't around.
