I hate the three up front approach when we have a bonafide number 9 as part of it. It's too crowded up there, and defensive lines drop more, further reducing space for Isak. He's a proven goalscorer, the most expensive player in English football, play to his strengths. Salah and Gakpo are looking for goals (badly) and I want them looking for Isak as a priority. If they're the width in the side, stay wide without cutting in for a shot or layoff back to the midfield.

Yep, bang on. 3rd highest transfer fee paid in the history of the game and we don’t pass to him.Modifying post.

Well if these 6 players are good enough to keep them up in the games around Afcon it's probably not stupid, but it's quite the gamble.Originally posted by frank the tank View PostYip Sunderland are flying alright. Good recruitment in the summer with some good young players and Xhaka to help them all is a brilliant move as well.
They might struggle soon enough with Afcon imo......I think I heard that they lose 6 players then??? Which is ****in stupid
That's a lot of players to lose in one go, from a squad size and balance perspective
But they probably only are 3 wins away from being safe from relegation, which is pretty incredible at the beginning of December
