Unless we win against Marseille he will be out

I dunno. If we sign no centreback (and its all very quiet) I dont think we will sack him.

It seems a bit much to expect someone to bail this out with 3 centrebacks, two of which have had injury problems every season, one of whom is now the man rightback when fit, the other seems checked out for when their contract ends

If we lose, we'll sack him. If we don't lose, and we lose the next game, we'll sack him.

What if we get two draws, and then lose the third?

Three draws make a win so only if we lose the fourth one…

We see poor football, pretty poor results and essentially no real improvement in the football being played. We were very good (title winning at a canter good) and if we are transitioning, it looks like a transition to a way of playing that the fans will not want.

I'll concede that the pressure on Slot does seem disproportionate on paper, he probably deserves way more time to improve things, looking at it objectively. As well as the sense that Klopp's team and klopp's motivation was largely responsible for last year's success, it's also Slot's personality, it's not endearing to anyone, maybe including the players. There is essentially zero emotional investment in him personally succeeding and he doesn't give fans cause to have any. Klopp was a leader of men, Alonso is a club legend who was key in Istanbul, Slot is just some bloke. LFC runs on emotion/romanticism and he's a poor match for that.
I don't disagree with any of this, I certainly am not invested emotionally in Slot and even though he has done well on paper and we should acknowledge that, I am a bit indifferent when it comes to him staying...I just don't really care. Also, I just don't think he has a long term plan because he knows he won't be there. I don't think he's stupid, he knows we play awful football and that our own fans know this too. Our tactics seem game to game and week to week and whatever bland **** we have to do to grind out results we'll do it. I think he'll try drag us over the Champs spots line and then he'll be off with a padded CV and a success story behind him. Imo both parties will be happy to move onto the next chapter. Alonso certainly would be exciting and nostalgic but also risky. I'm totally on board with it, let's go!!!

His team talks must e like a health and safety presentation

Most managers seem that way though. A lot of bland talk and cliches thrown about.

Think we were spoiled by having a once off like Klopp for so long and Slot is equally cursed with having to follow such a big personality as his public persona will constantly be compared to that of Klopp.

That’s a solid take and a good post.

It's funny how the likes of Richard Hughes and Jason Wilcox are regarded in such high esteem. Average footballers. But they scrub up well, put on a nice suit, talk the talk and are suddenly integral parts at the two biggest teams. I think they are woefully out of their depth. They are Bull****ters. It's amazing why these clubs have put so much faith in them.

I'm not convinced Alonso is the answer.

                          Slot in for me.

There does appear to be a large shift towards a general acceptance that Slots days are numbered. I think the main thing that has changed is the availability of the guy who was the number one candidate when we appointed Slots. When we lost 9 in 12 a few months ago there were no suitable candidates. Feels like ‘when’ not ‘if’. Either now or the summer.

Klopp didn't come first time we asked either.
