MacAllister was horrible for that first goal. Hideous season for him, legs gone.

Every player has regressed this season including the new signings, except maybe Rio and Dom.
In the beginning, Fowler created the Heaven and the Earth.

The point is he should, logically, be at his best but is somehow far below that level. I don’t know if the reasons are physical, mental or tactical. You have to wonder is he ok?

If a manager puts a player on the pitch then that player has to be the best version of himself. Obviously you have to fill gaps due to injuries etc, but the drop off shouldn't be so monumental.

I'm hoping for an announcement that he's leaving at the end of the season. His play-acting winds me up no end when he loses the ball.

One of the many things I don’t like about this season is how often we change formation now. It’s literally every game. 433 4222 4231… the abomination v PSG away. No wonder there are no patterns of play. No muscle memory. We rip it up and start again. It’s a weak mindset that we adapt to suit the opposition. Look at what good teams do, what PSG do, what City do, hell, even Arsenal. They say this is how we play - you have to find a way to beat us. It’s what we used to do.

Let's not reinvent the past. Klopp also signed a headless chicken for £85m and turned him into a... headless chicken.

There has to be something wrong with him IMO. His drop off has been extraordinary, he was a good runner, loved a tackle and could pass well. He now looks like he's running backwards and knackered after 5 minutes and cant pass to save himself and shy's away from contact unless its a **** late slide tackle.

It's like he's not injured enough to not play, but it's clearly impacting performance. If surgery is needed then just do it. Theres no point playing through the pain if you play like **** and leave the team a half player short. Especially in ****ing midfield!

Nunez is actually exactly what this team is missing though

The patterns of play is a big one for me I have no idea of what a goal from this team looks like. Players don't know their jobs as they are playing loads of different positions/roles, we can have 3 RBs in a game, Szoboszlai can play as a 6, an 8 a 10, a right winger a RB, Wirtz is playing as a 10 behind a 2, a 10 behind a 3, in midfield, wide left, God knows how many times we change the front line, but there is almost no understanding and we are struggling to create chances , look at the number of times we cross to no-one or pull back to no one and lose possession
The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

Also, Slot coming out before the game saying Isak is only fit enough to play 45 mins but starting him vs the best team in the world, 2 nil down and at Anfield where you want a rip roaring start, players busting a gut to get the crowd going... is so bizarre. This isn't a pre season friendly ffs and predictablely enough Isak was anonymous.

Yeah, that was a shocking decision whatever way you dice it.

I'm in the minority and think Isak is the real number nine over Ekitike, despite this season being a disaster for him. But regardless, starting him when he wasn't fit, just wasn't smart.

I'm not sure you're in the minority here - at least I agree with you.

I do agree though with another poster (Bob, I think) who mentioned the need for wide players to create chances for him. He's not as much of a 1 man forward line as Torres or Suarez were, so needs a clearer structure around him. Not necessarily wingers who get chalk on their boots, but wide forwards to create space for him along the width of the penalty box.

Thought that was the plan in the summer, until we didn't buy any wide forwards and sold one
