I think as 12:30 kick offs go the opening weekend of the season isn't a bad one to have. No midweek game or international break ahead of it giving tight turn around, for me this one isn't really a problem

We are on track for finishing top 8 in the CL so hopefully wont have those extra games to worry about

Great, so would just be solid Sat/Wed/Sat through until the middle of February rather then the end. 3 and a half months instead of 4.

It's great. I can't wait to watch us play again and it's only those ******* internationals that poke me in the eye. My calendar is sorted for the winter.

The numbers above are a bit misleading as we should get top 8 in the CL before we even have to play the last two games of the first round. City and Arsenal may not have such luxuries. I estimate about 3 or 4 games in Jan/Feb to be runouts for the returning injured and youth.

Well, hopefully. The only thing I would worry about is that the prize money for winning Champions league games (even a group game) is so big that Slot might be under pressure to go strong even if we’re already guaranteed top 8. Remember when Klopp did it in the final game of a group when we were already guaranteed top spot and I think Jota got injured and was out for 3/4 months after!

I think you get money for a top 8 finish or a 9-24 finish.....From what i read its not like our league i.e per position.

Every game won earns a lot of money, even meaningless ones. We can only hope we don't get too greedy. Short term gains, long term injury pains.
