Apparently there is a club World Cup but next summer, in the US heat, and somehow Salzburg have qualified through their UEFA ranking. No, me neither.

I've seen a couple of posts on twitter saying we are the first team to qualify for the next round of the CL, is this true? I don't see how it can be. But we are guaranteed at least a place in the playoffs as no one below 24th can match our points total. Presumably that is what they mean??The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

Chelsea qualified as CL winners in 2020-21, Real Madrid and Man City have also qualified as CL winners since.Originally posted by Bloodraven View PostAs have Chelsea.
Bayern, PSG, Inter, Porto, Benfica, Dortmund, Atletico Madrid, Juventus and RB Salzburg qualified due to their 4 year UEFA ranking
All according to wikipedia https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2025_FIFA_Club_World_Cup
Apparently participation is capped at 2 clubs per country, so despite us, RB Leipzig, Barcelona, Napoli, Seville, and AC Milan having higher 4 year UEFA rankings than Salzburg we can't participate

Nah, we've qualified for the knockout stage, so guaranteed not to be eliminatedOriginally posted by Exiled_red View PostI've seen a couple of posts on twitter saying we are the first team to qualify for the next round of the CL, is this true? Sounds like it'll be quite an extensive tournament so not a bad thing that we miss outOriginally posted by Exiled_red View PostChelsea qualified as CL winners in 2020-21, Real Madrid and Man City have also qualified as CL winners since.

I was looking for a predictor similar to the PL one on world football but couldn't find one - they appeared to have one but it wouldn't load - my guess is that because of teams have to play each other it works so favourably that 8 teams can't catch usOriginally posted by Exiled_red View PostI've seen a couple of posts on twitter saying we are the first team to qualify for the next round of the CL, is this true? Right, I think this is correct but it is manual. We definitely are not secure for top 8. The UEFA website does not differentiate but I am fairly confident we are secured a seeded spot for the play-offs.
I have assumed that we lose our 3 remaining games, then I have assumed teams that cannot catch us lose their remaining games. Where two teams who cannot catch us play each other the higher placed team as of now wins. Then any team that has surpassed us on points after those results loses any remaining games - initially this is only 1 game for Dortmund, 1 for Sporting, and 2 for Milan. As a result of those 4 games Leverkussen pass us so they lose their remaining game to Athletico and they are also above us but there ends the run as that is all of their games.
This means the table, sans Goal Difference, would look like this;
No code has to be inserted here.The remaining fixtures would be;
Dinamo Zagreb*Croatia 10-Dec Scotland*Celtic
Atalanta*Italy 10-Dec Spain*Real Madrid
Brest*France 10-Dec Netherlands*PSV Eindhoven
Arsenal*England 11-Dec France*Monaco
Juventus*Italy 11-Dec England*Manchester City
Monaco*France 21-Jan England*Aston Villa
Club Brugge*Belgium 21-Jan Italy*Juventus
Benfica*Portugal 21-Jan Spain*Barcelona
Arsenal*England 22-Jan Croatia*Dinamo Zagreb
Feyenoord*Netherlands 22-Jan Germany*Bayern Munich
Aston Villa*England 29-Jan Scotland*Celtic
Barcelona*Spain 29-Jan Italy*Atalanta
Dinamo Zagreb*Croatia 29-Jan Italy*Milan
Juventus*Italy 29-Jan Portugal*Benfica
Lille*France 29-Jan Netherlands*Feyenoord
Manchester City*England 29-Jan Belgium*Club Brugge
Brest*France 29-Jan Spain*Real Madrid
So Madrid can catch us on goal difference and the two teams they would have to beat can still pass us outright but on the flip side Zagreb would have to beat Celtic and that would mean they can't qualify.Football without Origi is nothing

Ok thanks, I knew there was a possibility with who has to play who,but it's a complicated system to try and work through and to be honest couldn't be bothered trying
