Just looking at the table, that Forest defeat is looking a real shame now. Hypothetically if we were still unbeaten now, you'd fancy us to maintain that record for the rest of the season.
Probably beneficial not to have the distraction and hopefully it allows us to rest players in April/May, but I'm so petty that I'd absolutely have loved to have bettered Arsenal's 'Invincibles' record along the way (bettered the points total).
If we are all only happy when we are really winning in the end, when your race finishes, what life would that be?

I think it was a blessing in disguise. It showed Slot for the first time there is no guaranteed results in this league, he’s took nothing for granted since that game.Originally posted by RedReet View PostJust looking at the table, that Forest defeat is looking a real shame now. I think the players took something away too. VvD has kept them in line since.One tit for another.

As we end our 'toughest' month, it seems like our first XI has rediscovered their form/pizzazz. A quick recap:
* Everton thought they'd won the league (aka, stopped us winning the league
)
* Got knocked out of a cup by fricking Plymouth
* Reached another cup final
* Had to play 5 tough PL games
* Gained 11 points out of a possible 15
* Watched Arsenal lose easy points
* Oh, and won number 20.One tit for another.

I thought I'd see what would happen if "the wheels fall off" after the league cup final, in the same way as it did last season.
Last season we were joint top with Arsenal after 28 matches with 64 points. This season we have 67. 13 ahead but with a game more played.
We won a further 18 points from 30 in the remaining 10 matches to finish on 82, and a distant 3rd place to City (91) and Arsenal (89).
18 more points this season gets us to 85, and Arsenal can achieve a maximum of 87 if they win their 11 matches.
So even with a collapse which mirrors last season's one, Arsenal need to be perfect from now until the end, to take advantage of it.
I feel cautiously optimistic.
Oh I don't know.

Good assessment! And that will be enough if 1 or 3 of those 18 points are won against Arsenal in MayOriginally posted by dom9 View PostI thought I'd see what would happen if "the wheels fall off" after the league cup final, in the same way as it did last season.

Your maths is out, only 3 ahead with a game more played (67-64 =3). So pretty much the same as last yearOriginally posted by dom9 View PostI thought I'd see what would happen if "the wheels fall off" after the league cup final, in the same way as it did last season.
