That can't be right? 90 would be an average of only 2 per game!

Man Utd conceded over 130 shots in one 6 game spell alone last season. Them Sheffield Utd and Luton all conceded 500+ each over the season.

Maybe the stat you saw was shots on target conceded, not all shots conceded?

Even then 90 or so would be a very low number over 38 games.

Just had a quick peek and it seems that we have faced 96 shots on target so far in the league this season (Alisson 64, Kelleher 31 and Jaros 1) from 29 games. Tends to average about 3 per 90 minutes over the course of a season for a team with a really good defensive record so we are close-ish to that at present.

Achievable though for a team conceding around 8 shots per game, which appears to be where City and Arsenal were last season.

If the number Norbs saw is actually mid 90s, then that's around 2.5 on average. Roughly 30% of shots end up on target, so that would check out.

Norbs was off his head on a big bag of pick and mix. Sugar rushes and crashes all over the place. He probably thought he was posting on Got anewshovel.co.uk or something.

We're still on for 97 points.

I reckon 2 wins and 4 draws wins us the league. Arsenal are going to draw at least one more time.

                        I'm an eternal pessimist

However after that result tonight I'm starting to believe and enjoy the fact we're gonna win the league

I wouldn’t say I’m an eternal pessimist but I’m cautious for sure, but even I’m starting to believe we’re almost there.
Me, I’m either planning a holiday or I’m on one.

97 is the max, in terms of points per game we are on for about 92-93 points.

I was wondering last night what we have to do to get any credit, people keep saying we aren't of the quality of the Man City and Liverpool sides of recent years but 30 games in we have only lost 1 game. We could end up with a low to mid 90's points total which for context only 7 teams in PL history have got 93 points or more. 97 points (which I very much doubt we will get) has only been achieved 4 times all of which have been by City or ourselves in recent years. And the season we had 97 points and finished second we went perfect from this point in the season, so were in the same position then as we are now, which I feel makes the current criticism somewhat unfair.
The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

We are having an immense season in the league.

2.43 PPG after 30 games is nuts.

2.33 goals scored per game after 30 games is nuts.

We finish this season on over 90 points then we go into a select group of teams (ones that are to this today lauded for the achievement) be it from the PL era or the pre PL era.

Plus going over 90 points is more difficult for any team in the 38 game era over those that played in the 42 game era (yes yes 2 points per game for some of those but when you scale up we did have teams in the late 1970s that were racking up 30 wins and a chunk of draws in a season).

Bottom line is results are all that matter and this team, a team being led by a new manager in his first season, a team that supposedly has so many flaws and weaknesses, is putting up elite level numbers.

If critics have any questions, maybe they should be directed at the so called world class managers in the division with settled squads, settled back room teams and experience of the division. Why are those so called best of the best not able to do what a new guy can just walk in and do?

The idiots on Sky etc are twisting themselves into knots with saying the league is a weak one this year and then at the same time praising the likes of Arteta and Guardiola for being world class managers and saying the PL is the best league in the world.

                                Oh and lest I forget...
