But the competition is not weaker. That is just a narrative being pushed. It is just the gap between the mid table teams and the top 6 to 8 teams has closed so there are more teams capable of taken points from the so called big clubs.


If anything the league is tougher now as there are less "easy" games.


In recent seasons it was two horse races with the two chasing the title prettys much chewing up the rest of the league and the results between the two toitle chasers being the difference makers.


Just look at the seasons we came runner up to City. We improve just one of the head to head games and we win the title instead of them.

This season the title chasers are in a position where beating the rest comes into play more as the rest are not being turned over as easily.


Not our fault our newbie to the league manager is better able to set up his team to counter the majority of the rest of the league than the "PL proven" wold class managers.


Not our fault our newbie manager has taken more or less the same squad of players that finished 9 points off the pace last season and is currently 12 points clear with that same group of players being a year older.

I've come around to this way of thinking, there is a lot more depth in the league now for sure. However, I do think we'd all be singing from the same hymn sheet if we'd gone toe to toe with a top City side over the course of the season.

I do wonder what Chiesa has to do to get a start. Perhaps he is physically not able to complete 90 mins. That is the only plausible reason I can think of to be honest.

I wouldn't mind seeing Salah start as #9 either tbh.

Well, we've lost 3 of our last 4 games. That's not good enough, we have to something different to at least limp over the line.

Slot's got me a bit worried tbh, we're too open at the back again and look predictable and out of ideas, we need to shock the team with some changes IMO.

well, a couple of games before, during the international break, a few of us were already seeing some of the lack desire in certain parts of the field or complacency against perceived 'weaker' opposition and commented as such and some of us were told off...not a 'i told you' moment as such, but surely most of you can see now that some of us have previously noticed the major first team lads are 'at half level of mental and concentration' levels (especially after being bundled out of the cups and champs league) and rightly should get some bollocking if they aren't at 100 percent determination level... really need to get guys like elliot and endo on the pitch at the start and show up on some of these starters, but what's worrying is now we are leaking (ok maybe i am exaggerating, not so much leaking but perceived to be allowing teams more shots on target or chances in the goal mouth area) in goals at the back line as well...

I think the biggest weakness in the team the last few weeks is Jota. He’s not as clinical as he once was, but his major weakness is that he brings no intensity to the team. He’s one of those strikers, where if he doesn’t score, he doesn’t do much else in the game either.

I think especially the issue is that Slot shouldn’t be starting both him and Salah. When they’re both starting, that’s 2/3 attackers who are bringing next to no intensity. I reckon if Nunez was starting, Salah might have gotten an extra 2/3 goal la over the last few games.

I think Jota would be a useful sub to have, and I think if he was playing the last 20/25 min of game, rather than playing the first 70 or so, he would be able to contribute a lot more..
