I think especially the issue is that Slot shouldn’t be starting both him and Salah. When they’re both starting, that’s 2/3 attackers who are bringing next to no intensity. I reckon if Nunez was starting, Salah might have gotten an extra 2/3 goal la over the last few games.

I think Jota would be a useful sub to have, and I think if he was playing the last 20/25 min of game, rather than playing the first 70 or so, he would be able to contribute a lot more..
Jota wasn’t the reason we conceded 3 goals at the weekend though - scoring 2 should have been enough for us to have won that game.

The whole back 5 had a bad day at the office.
Me, I’m either planning a holiday or I’m on one.

Was listening to Kopon podcast and they had an interesting/worrying stat - apparently it’s been 10 games since we last recorded more duels won in a game than the opposition. We are being out fought.

VVD only won 40% of his duels against Fulham, and Konate 50%. Quansah won 50% of his duels in that first half against Ipswich, for context

Interesting that Konate didn't get hooked at half time

The whole back line could and should have been hooked at half time.

Bradley Quansah Endo Tsimikas would have done better. Players are mentally fecked. They need a break. Slot will not give it them.

Jota also wasn’t the reason we scored 2, was he?

I said over the last few weeks, not just the Fulham game. Most of the team played crap against Fulham, but for a lot of the offenders, it’s not an ongoing issue- I feel like it is an ongoing issue with Jota, and particularly with Jota and Salah both starting together.

I’d say our relatively poor form lately has been due to a lack of goals, more than defensive issues, apart from the Fulham game, but I also think our attack was crap in the first half of that game.
              I don't tip

Low shots in target in most games. Our attacking play in general has been poor

What do people think the points difference will be in the final league table between ourselves and arsenal?

                  My guess is +6.

+8 with the game against them a draw.

I thought Arsenal weren't going to get past 80 points, but just realised they have both Saka and Martinelli back who don't seem like they need any settling back in time.

I reckon they will get 80 or 81 points now. More reason we need to be cheering them on in the CL.

                        TLDR; +4

Our next three games are the easiest left - WH home, Leicester away and Spurs home….. if we don’t get full points it will be proper squeaky bum time as the ones after are all tough

4th in the league and only 2 home defeats all season.

                                Currently, they'll finish 6th IMO.

In any case, we've Brighton and Palace who should well be on their proverbial summer holidays if we need a get out of jail card.
