Nah, two wins and a draw from those three will mean we likely only need 1 more point from the other games to lift the title.Originally posted by Irishnev View PostOur next three games are the easiest left - WH home, Leicester away and Spurs home….. if we don’t get full points it will be proper squeaky bum time as the ones after are all toughOne tit for another.

It was a such very complacent & unprofessional performance imo and I'm hoping that's the kick in the arse we need. All it takes is a few more games with dropped points and the pressure mounts. Slot definitely has some things he needs to work on next season & having faith in the squad players seems to be one of those. I get that it's his first season & winning the league would be a massive achievement, so he has to be feeling the pressure. We have lauded some of his subs this season & managing injuries but he has ran certain players into the ground & there is no good reason why the likes of Endo, Elliot, Timmy, & Chiesa shouldn't get more mins when it is abundantly clear that certain players are just gassed or way off form.Last edited by danperkins; 09-04-25, 11:20 AM.

Jota doesn’t need to be the reason we scored 2 goals though. I’m not saying his output/influence has been at the level needed, I just don’t think he’s been our biggest issue recently.Originally posted by Mr Pink View PostJota also wasn’t the reason we scored 2, was he?
I said over the last few weeks, not just the Fulham game. Most of the team played crap against Fulham, but for a lot of the offenders, it’s not an ongoing issue- I feel like it is an ongoing issue with Jota, and particularly with Jota and Salah both starting together.
I’d say our relatively poor form lately has been due to a lack of goals, more than defensive issues, apart from the Fulham game, but I also think our attack was crap in the first half of that game.

I was wondering if we’d have a blip, all teams seem to, ours is fortunately happening when we are 10+ points clear in the League which is an awesome space to be in.
We need to correct this obviously and I can only imagine all focus will be on this. We are likely to KO v West Ham with Arsenal 8 (still quite a distance!) points behind. Getting that back to 11 points with 6 games to go should be very motivating.Modifying post.

Where we have been lucky (as I am choosing to see it as with the advantage of hindsight) is that most of our blip has been in cup games so has had minimal impact on our league progress.
11 points clear with 7 games to go is an amazing position to be in and whilst it sucks to be out of the CL, going out of it might prove to be the difference in getting life back in the legs to see out the hunt for the league title.
One game a week from here on in will allow for a better balance between games, training and recovery times.
The league cup loss sucked, but will be forgotten about when (yeah I'm all in on the win happening
) we are parading with number 20 in late May.

we’ll agree to disagree.
My issue isn’t with Jota, as much as it’s with Slot starting him every game. Think I said it in the first post, but I think Jota would be a very good sub to come on the last 20 min, but doesn’t have the legs to play for 70-90. And again, I think the issue is when him and Salah are starting together, we have no intensity - I think (at least) one of them should be dropped, and it would be Jota for me.I don't tip

What is that nonsense?
You're Irish.
More importantly you lived in Cork and still come here.
