Thanjk you.

I saw both the game and that video earlier. I was going to post it but then thought of all the other times the ball bounced off him or the times he kicked it straight at a Galatasary player.
He'll definitely come good but at the moment he's struggling and the team is struggling. Not a direct correlation but he's a part of the problem, sadly.
I said it somewhere else it looks like the press high up the pitch isn’t working and they aren’t going together which is leaving gaps for teams to play through and then they aren’t winning the ball back high up the pitch which is where so many chances come from.
Add in what Gravenberch was talking about after the derby and his role this season and not just sitting deep. The team is trying to be more attacking but it’s not right yet and the balance is off which is making everything worse. Add the press and this together and you can see why the team is more open. Arsenal was the best defensive performance and it was more balanced like lass season and the new players all played well that day.
Attack wise I don’t think it’s as bad as it seems. Early in that game they opened them up multiple times and it should have been 1-0 before the penalty. Gakpo doesn’t want to link with Kerkez when he supports him for some reason. Salah has had a poor start but the fact the RB keeps changes might be part of that. The midfield is changing a lot. Isak isn’t fit yet and Alexis is clearly behind in fitness.
Maybe it’s the opposite to last season and it’s too many changes each game so they can’t settle especially with all the changes. I’m confident it will start to kick in soon. Too many proven good players and a top coach for it not too.
Believe it or not, I actually thought last night was his best performance for us. He seemed a bit sharper on and off the ball and more progressive. He did give it away though at one point if I recall but he definitely seemed more on his game last night. I think we can expect a big performance on Saturday against Chelsea, not just from Wirtz but from all the lads.
Klopp on LFC vs MUFC (March 9th 2016) - "This is why I love football. This is why we watched it when we were young. I can still not have enough of it."
Always, keep your face to the sun, and shadows will fall behind you.

It was still quite bad at times. He is a country mile away from where he needs to be. He keeps miscontroling or misplacing 5 yard passes, or being eased off the ball with little effort. For me we need to get the basics right first. Risky balls are fine but each one seems to.be putting us under pressure because of the gaps behind. Id take him out if the starting lineup for now, and leave him as an impact sub until he finds a bit of confidence and rhythm (and for the rest of the team to un**** itself)
It can take a season.to.properly adapt, and I think its going to take a while as thebrest of the team is so disjointed, which is not his fault.
I agree we need to play closer to last seasons style and personnel to regain a bit of composure. But then Salah and Konate have been a bit shocking, so its not that simple either

True enough, but if Isak buried the chance, and Bradley headed home the winner, carragher would have been wanking over Wirtz’ performance- the guy is a clown, doesn’t offer any sort of expertise.

To be fair it's the first game I've concentrated on but he makes runs, plays decent passes and sees the game. But he lacks lacks strength and is at time on a different wavelength. Hopefully he'll dumb down to our level

Yeah Carra does my head in at the moment. I can’t stand his punditry. He seems to think he’s some sort of oracle now.
As others have said about Wirtz our expectations were sky high. We hoped and probably to some extent thought he’d be getting lots of goals and assists while dribbling past players and playing defence splitting passes right from the start.
But he’s a young player in a new league and country and we really don’t know how the dynamic of the squad is right now after Jota and how that’s affected the current players and the new ones settle in.
I’m far from worried about the team or the players or the manager.
