I think the fee has quite rightly skewed our view of how he has been playing, and we were all hoping he would have had more of an impact. Imo he has been nowhere near as bad as people are making out.

Was it fine margins in the analytics department or an actual shortcoming in then stats based model? Is anyone really that surprised that Wirtz is not yet imposing himself on games?
Yes anyone who watched Leverkusen would know that the wirtz so far in competitive games for Liverpool hasn’t even come close to what he would regularly do in games.

He has been making errors he doesn’t usually make and he seems a little off in his speed of decision making.

At Leverkusen he almost always got the ball he wanted when he wanted it. That’s not the case so far at Liverpool where he is often making runs and not receiving it or the timing is off from the passer.

It's a fair post. I expected Wirtz to hit the ground running to be honest, especially after glimpses in pre season but I didn't expect the team itself to be so out of sorts which hasn't done anyone any favours. Szob is the only one that has shown his best so far, it's very surprising considering the personnel.

It's been a weird start, we are still in a good position, we have buckets of quality everywhere but also we do look weak in some areas at the moment & we haven't quite figured out what is our best team & what is the style of play and setup for this team. I mentioned a few times, we just look very uncomfortable as a team & just haven't found that balance yet. Slot has work to do, 3 losses on the bounce is not good & even the most of the wins were lucky, we could see a loss coming a mile away although maybe not 3 on the trot

These ****ing international breaks are not doing us any favors, we need lads fit and firing and as much time on the training ground together as possible.

Szob is also our most versatile player, maybe he's the quickest to respond to changes

I think a big part of his role is in trying to develop relationships with the players around him and he hasn't really been able to do that. His role relies more probably more than any other on players knowing when/where to play the ball to him and him knowing how to do the same for the forwards. For the latter part it doesn't help that the forward who would most benefit from the good understanding is Isak who isn't fit or up to speed yet either and hasn't played a huge amount. Similarly he will likely be looking to receive the ball from the CMs behind him and again MacAllister has been out of sorts too. I think these factors are compounding the problems for him.
The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

Big opportunity at the weekend imo. Against uniteds midfield then surely there will be chances with space on the ball.

Weird tho, cos I saw his highlight reel for the match and if his teammates could finish, he would have had at least 2 assists in that game. Seemed to work the ball well, when it came his way too.

That's good in a twisted way. Shows that he's rock bottom in confidence and nothing to do with ability and talent.

I'm looking forward to seeing him playing with full confidence sooner or later!

I watched the second half. He should have had an assist with a trademark superb through ball to put (dunno) through on goal. He also won a free kick with an outrageous dive. Out with that it was a proper dog fight of a game where nobody really got any time on the ball.

Needs time, ala Bobby F - although I think Bobby F was further on with his trade - Just needs a wee bit of time to get into the league and he will boss it - Too many experienced people saying it.
I make no apologies, this is me

Yeah. And superb is a bit of a stretch.

Great ball to be fair, didn’t break stride to give the defender a chance. Superb? Maybe not but a bloody good pass yes.
