There is being annoyed by a result and then there is the same being annoyed doom and gloom before a ball is even kicked in a game.

That sliver of hope just does not seem to exist pre game or even in game at times. Or at least it feels that way at times.

Yes the football in pretty much every PL team's games this season is dull unispired muck, our games being the same, but where is the hope that there will be a moment of joy caused by a bit of skill in amongst the shyte?

Just think we are collectively setting ourselves up to not look for those little moments and instead sitting there waiting for the bad.

Bad **** is easy to find in this world, even easier if that is what one expects to find, but that buzz from a little moment, that little stirring of hope, even if fleeting, is worth hanging onto and waiting in anticipation of. Imo of course.

Being that way makes watching us easier for me this season. I still see the same dull plodding stuff, I still want changes but am content in the short term to try and mine whatever moments I can from the crap show and let that glimmer be what comes with me after a game rather than letting a bunch of underperforming multi millionaire athletes pee me off for hours/days with their lack of effort or lack of being able to do the basics. They are not going home after a game thinking they let supporters down so why should I be worried if they are hopefully shortening their time at the club I support with crap performances?

Same attitude to be taken to managers, head coaches and whatever other positions.

We will see good days again, much better days, so I am trying not to let the current muck be anything other than where our next launch pad to better days is going to be built upon.

I'm firmly in the glass half full camp and have my fingers crossed for some magical moments of cup glory this season and looking forward to seeing how we get on next season with, hopefully, a new manager and a refreshed squad. But.... I'm also reasonably content and comfortable in my life outside of supporting LFC as I'd hazard a guess you are. There are plenty less fortunate and I'm not going to tell them how to feel or react when one of the possibly few sources of joy dries up for them and is replaced by frustration.
Of course if they're happy and content but still moaning, entitled miseries then they can **** right off

Whilst I agree with the ‘we have it better than most narrative’ and think that the ‘bed wetter at the first sign of trouble’ support is not a good look. I also would have myself as firmly in the glass is half full camp - I do find myself with questions.

We are trending downwards over a 12 month period now.

When I watch our game the reality is I am bored. Maybe that’s not quite getting that endorphin hit of a title race - and that has to be part of it. But overall the football seems dull, the players and fans seem apathetic and collectively everythi g seems to be misaligned.

I think we just need this season out of the way, we draw a line under it and we move forwards from the season and the tragedies that happened at the start of it. The turmoil from the emotional rollercoaster has been massive.

I think we will move on from Arne.

He would be in the last 12 months of his contract and there is zero noise of a renewal. Is it the right thing to do? Increasingly it seems so.

The other issue now is that supporters increasingly only seem satisfied now with a legacy of titles. That is where it becomes ridiculous and unsustainable. This whole ‘bad champions’ ****e.

It makes you wonder about the future of the game. It’s a low scoring sport as it stands but if those scores are ****e (corners) then who will really want to watch it? Match going supporters are an an aging demographic across the entire sport. We will be left with soulless behemoth clubs and tourist support watching an increasingly woeful product.

And I’m Glass is half full eh

It is not a case of saying don't say things are poor when they are poor, rather that the negativity at times seems to be relentless and just keeps on going.

Surely that is not a nice head space to be in and if something is causing that then stepping away or trying to change the flow of the conversation might make more sense and distract a little from the stuff that is going wrong on the pitch.

Plus there is an end in sight one way or the other. We are at the tail end of the season so Slot in or Slot out, the LFC season will be over in a couple months and the having to watch dull LFC related footy ends for a bit.

As for me saying bed wetters, don't really care if saying that is a bad look, that is how I see those social media "influencer" types that offer no discussion, no debate and that just dump misery onto people for hits. It is all about hyperbole with them and whilst some will be staged it is still not healthy wgatr they do, imo of course, and over time it has to eat into the pysche of those their content reaches out to.

And I apply that to more than just the sports "influencer" arseholes too. It applies for me to anyone with a big online following that spews toxic **** for the sake of enriching themselves at the cost of others.

I also think it is important to state that I am not singling out any individuals on here nor am I telling anyone here what they have to post. I am just doing the exact same thing they are doing and that is posting my own opinion that people can agree with or disagree with or debate anything I say that they think is out of order.

          But Buzzo?

Sure have a whinge about it, but think this season there is almost a hope for more bad performances and results as it vindicates pre formed opinions, and a whinge about a game lasts days and then just blends into the next whinge which tends to be nothing more than "Slot out" being said over and over.

Just feels like a series of tantrums at times.

Last season we dined on fine steak, this season we are being serving **** sandwiches. Who knows, next season might be a rollar coaster with more to inspire hope than despair. But at the end of the day we are not "owed" anything and more so as for the most part we are watching the games online on a stream or on the radio or watching others put updates on a site so we are not even having to make the effort to go to the ground every week.

Think part of it for me is that I tend rail against negativity, probably do it too much as well to be fair, and the more I see of it the more my instinct is to push back. Makes me no more or no less a supporter than the next person but is just how my mindset kicks in.

Maybe over the decades I bought too much into the idea that we are a little different as a fanbase, that we are a bit more patient, a bit more knowleable, that it is about more than what is on the pitch and so on.

Again that is on me for endulging a childhood fantasy and carrying it into adulthood. We are the same as other fanbases, especially us in the online communities. The same wanting all smooth and no rough. We, and I include myself in that, have just liked to pretend otherwise.

People often say the game is gone and then point at the wealth as the reason as to why. Me I think it is just as much down to the supporters as to why football, at the highest levels, has just become a product and why feelings of general comraderie carry about as much weight or depth as what shares with the smelly Clare ****er standing in front of you in the line at Circle K.
I agree with a lot of that Doc, it was just the bit I highlighted that didn't sit well - hence the reply.

And zero objection to you highlighting it as it probably read more harshly than I meant it, and that is all on me.

For us it is looking like it will come down to the run of fixtures against the other 4 sides around us in the last 4 games (Brentford could have been in serious contention if they hadn't let a 2 goal lead slip against Wolves). Unless we completely bollocks it up before then.

Villa beating West Ham at home which leaves us 5 points off 4th place now.

And spurs being beaten 3-0 at home by forest. That draw last week was just completely unacceptable with the form spurs are in.

Especially when spurs had even more players out than we do.
