OK, just completely overlook all the reasons I just gave as to why it wasn't simply a continuation from Klopp

This season is a completely different case again.

Exactly! Amost everyone said top 4 would be a successful first season for Slot.

Then he wins the league and you get people saying it was left on a plate for him!

We're back above Everton at least.

That's because that is the only logical answer. He's a fraud, there's no turning this around

That’s not logic, it’s confirmation bias.

There may be no turning things around from this point, but that’s not the argument here.

All things considered, there’s a far bigger argument to made for this being an anomaly season.

This is an interesting, respectful and delicate discussion around the grieving process that we are witnessing.

The fact that we’ve lost (until today) 6 out of seven in the League but are somehow only 4 points behind second place is mind blowing.

Yep! Will take the mother of all meltdowns for Arsenal to blow this season, even for them

And only 9 points behind arsenal, it’s mad, the league could look completely different by the end of January.

We need to have some ****in run to get back into it.

We got to Arsenal on the 8th of January. Between now and then, we play:

                      Sunderland h
                      Leeds a
                      Brighton h
                      Spurs a
                      Wolves h
                      Leeds h
                      Fulham a

And then go to Arsenal. We obviously have the players to beat any of those teams and you never know. My heart says we can ****in do it. But my head says "West ham were ****in ****e so it is hard to judge how we really played yesterday"

If we were to win all those games though, then we will surely go to arsenal and be able to put them under pressure in that game. They will try to set piece their way to the title but if we got to within 5 points of them between now and the time we play them, hopefully Isak and Wirtz are fully up go speed then and we can hurt them.

I made a similar comment on this run before the forest and CL games, which we were both atrocious in. I've lost all faith now.

I think people are putting the chicken before the cart, or whatever the saying is.

1 The season is only 13 games in. Arsenal are in the position every other team would want to be in and they have so far been playing far more consistently well than their rivals, but it wouldn't be a disgrace if they lost soon and that would reduce their lead to 2 points which is nothing at this stage of the season. So it is far too soon to say if they don't win it it will be "the mother of all meltdowns".

2 Liverpool won yesterday and every recovery needs to start somewhere, but West Ham are a poor side and they played particularly badly on Sunday, even for them. It was great to see our players looking to chase down players and trying to press, but the midfielders still looked exhausted from the off (Macca in particular struggled, although he did take a hit on his leg in the first half), the press was a bit of a mess, we missed chances in the first half and in the second half we did not have the control we had in the first half. We need to be much better if we are to beat better teams. So it feels very early to be talking about if we win the next 7 games.

What I would say though is that, if we can rediscover the things that currently we have lost, we are very capable of putting together a long run of wins. But we are miles from that at the moment....though in a better place than we were before Sunday.

they have a 5 point advantage, and a 9 point one on us.
Every team that has had 6 or more points advantage at this stage of the season has won the league.

We can probably afford to drop another 6 points. Wouldhappily take top 4 at this stage.
