Why would slobz have left the ball for rio, he was clear of the defender and could have had a shot, maybe got the yips.

He's already played two seasons in the league so the pace of play shouldn't be a surprise to him.Originally posted by danperkins View PostIt might be a good shout to be honest, we look so fragile at the back and he has had a bit of a mare.
He's the one signing I thought would start well whilst the other guys may need a few games to acclimatise

The pressure of playing for LFC is so different though. His positioning and general defender in both games has been so erratic but even in possession he looks so unsure of himself.Originally posted by spud_gun View PostHe's already played two seasons in the league so the pace of play shouldn't be a surprise to him.

Because he was drawing defenders on him for that very same reason, meaning the player behind him had tons of space and was on the same vector, meaning a free and relatively easy shot.Originally posted by baitman View PostWhy would slobz have left the ball for rio, he was clear of the defender and could have had a shot, maybe got the yips.Really?

Szoboslais chance would have been tough, the defender may have got a block, it was a tougher chance. Rio had a free hit, a far easier chance As he was unmarked. Dom’s awareness, selflessness and skill left it to Rio. Then the trust that he knew Rio had it in him to take the chance.Modifying post.

He seems to have been targeted a lot in the two games so far as well.
Patience is needed for the start to the season. Let’s see where the team is in another 5-10 games and how the new players settle.

Yeah it’s fair to say Kerkez hasn’t settled in yet & should be looking over his shoulder.Originally posted by ric.williams View PostKerkez defending let Newcastle back in the game. we were dominant until that defending effort.
Not the match for Wirtz too hecticMe, I’m either planning a holiday or I’m on one.

Either Rio gave him the call which would show enormous confidence from the young man or Dom just knew he was there with his great vision.

Just good awareness. Yes he could have scored but he'd likely have had to take a touch first, amazing awareness of who was around him and that could be a crucial moment for us later in the seasonKlopp on LFC vs MUFC (March 9th 2016) - "This is why I love football. This is why we watched it when we were young. I can still not have enough of it."

That’s another game where Newcastle have outfought us in the middle - they seemed to win all the high/second balls and just generally bullied us. I’ve mentioned it a few times but I’d much rather we sign a midfielder with a bit of steel for these types of games (than spend all our budget on Isak). A quicker, taller, younger version of Endo would be ideal.
