Well yes, I agree. We concentrated on strengthening the wrong area. I guess my point was if we hadn't sold Diaz (and given him a payrise instead of you know who), and strengthened defensively, we would be better off. Even if Diaz wasn't your cuppa. I think on the pressing side - whilst I mostly agree - one of our own criticisms of Klopp's tenure was that the players were always knackered come March. I think last season, Slot just dialled it down a touch without changing the overall method and it worked a treat. So yeh, somewhere inbetween would be nice. So yeh, I guess I actually more than mostly agree!Originally posted by Charly View PostWont stop the opposition waltzing though our lines.
I do agree we miss Diaz' work rate. But if he was in the team it would have dropped same as everyone else in the team.
This is a tactical decision. Slot thinks you can be a top side without pressing. Perhaps you can if you have the best players in the world in every position.
To make up that difference you have to work your bollocks off, or other teams will do the same to you, as we have found out.
We cant really compete at Premier League level playing this way.
We could still revert to last seasons klopp/slot hybrid style.Last edited by Tatterdemalion; 04-04-26, 04:37 PM.Really?

Is there a similar post of the fans seemingly frustrated with Szobo and the rest? I mean, what does he expect? Yes, they (the fans) should support the team, but they also need to see the requisite effort. Fans pay a lot of money to see away games - negligible to the players, but a lot for fans - they have the right to express disappointment. They've paid for that right.Originally posted by kingfunk View PostReally?

He’s still playing pretty well in general, but I don’t see much captaining going on.Originally posted by Deano View PostNot a dig at Kerkez ( he made run after run after run today ) - we needed Robbo out there today, some arses need to get kicked and I think VVD has lost his MojoLast edited by Kenneth; 05-04-26, 12:47 AM.Trey Nyoni: countdown to stardom-2 years1year0.5 years

May sound silly but I'm not convinced he is the right person to captain tbe team. Under the peak Klopp team the likes of Henderson and Milner were there to keep everyone honest and setting the standards both on tbe training ground and on the pitch. VVD even (especially) then found the game easy and never looked like he had to put maximum effort in in games, and even back then had the occasional moment. I think the reason we often look better when Robbo is on tbe pitch is because he is probably the one in the squad who sets that standard and bollocks players whom aren't reaching it. I'm no sure there are any others at the moment who do that.Originally posted by Kenneth View PostHe’s still playing pretty well in general, but I don’t see much captaining going on.The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.
