But Terry in the Community Shield and Rio Contraband last year in the FA Cup weren't that good in keeping Crouch at bayOriginally posted by kemm1 View PostYou forget he's also been injured this season.
When good defenders (Vidic, Gallas, Toure, Terry, Ferdinand etc.) are marking Crouch they easily take the ball of him.

I'd keep Crouch unless a ridiculous offer came in.
I actually think our best front line would be kuyt and cisse - unstoppable, however, that is never going to happen because Cisse and Rafa don't get on.
Fortunately we could be in a situation that means we don't need to raise funds to buy top players so I don't think we will be seeing any of our more established players leaving any time soon.
On the subject of Crouch, has anyone noticed that predictive text spells his name Crotch.....I used to think that was quite apt when he was on his mahoosive goal drought at the start of his Liverpool career.

Couldnt advocate selling him TBH. His hold up play is outstanding, and he offers something that defenders arent used to dealing with. Terry himself has stated that he really didnt know how to handle Crouch in last years matches. He's been a good sigining overall and though he will not start every match, will be a great squad player.
I think a lot of the anti-crouch stuff stems from his bean-pole gangly appearance, which often masks how good he actually is.Fernando Torres
I dont just love him, I'm IN love with him

People seem to forget he's also great for team-spirit, players aren't robots and what signal would it send out to the rest of the team if Rafa'd let Crouch go (remembering that at the time, Kuyt was his first choice and we've got him now)?Originally posted by SpeedyG View PostWe need to keep him even if we don't play him much. He's such a mismatch and could prove invaluable in the right kind of game.

Torres and Kuyt would work very well together IMOOriginally posted by Howard_lfc View PostVilla yes - Torres no thanks.
the problem for young Torres at Atletico is he is the focal point of every attack...he is easily marked out of games.
I feel it would be a different situation here though, he is a supremely gifted player, and would work nicely with Kuyt and Stevie.
I would have him in a heartbeat
I'd also have Villa in a heartbeat
PS: to the guy that is talking up Carew. HE IS ****E!! if it wasnt for that game against Madrid, knowone would be talking about him. He has a massive ego aswell apparently.....which would explain why he was shipped out pronto by Rafa."When a man insults my country I insult him, by taking his woman" Tony Yeboah
"looking through your posts since 2007 and what you have consistently written about my football team I have come to the conclusion that if you had 1 more brain cell you would be a plant .. your father was a hamster and your mother smells of elder berries, I fart in your general direction ..." Nicey

His second decent match in 5 years or so....Originally posted by ShaggyAlonso View PostIt is quite incredible the number of people who saw Carew against Real Madrid the other week and came storming on to the internet to declare him a world-beater.

Pay attention lads, pay attention.
