Aye, Cannon said on Granada that there will be no splashing obscene sums of money on players. Strangely, I'm quite pleased about that.

Like Pacman said, this would probably mean, for example, that we won't have a repeat of the Alves situation when we're a few million short of landing the player. I don't think any Red would want us to go and lash £40m on three different players, as odd as that may sound. For a start that's not Rafa's style, but it's surely safe to say the days of scrimping and saving are over.

Rafa has said he has spoken to the Wallet and Moores and it's exciting times so I think we can presume they have given him some idea of funds if this does go through.
