Could you explain what you mean here as I dont understand it? Is the merchandising ( properly run) not a possible source?

Of course it is, but merchandising would not really bring in anything remotely enough to balance out the level of expenditure they'd be going through, if we're to assuming that they'd continue to put money into the club, after acquiring it.

Their motive will be PR as already stated and the best PR they can get is by being the best and sitting top of the tree. These arent the kind of people who enter into something with the intention of being anything but the best.

Not at all. I just want us to be able to go that extra mile when we have a player all but signed, like Alves and Simao were, and all we need is an extra couple of million.

I was fortunate many years ago to have dinner with members of the Maktoum family following the Derby (racing one). They appear genuine sports fans and were extremely gracious. If the Dubai Holdings investment comes off I think its safe to say that they will want us to win....everything.
