Chelski have been linked with Richards as well. They won't go after both players (surely).

Did I mention he was past it? No.

        Is Richards younger? Yes.

Alves has been having a storming season so far. At 13M he is sort of affordable but as someone said above I'd rather have Micah Richards who in my opinion is going to be an Int'l in no time.

I would prefer Alves (I think he has more experience and is a better player right now and next season we will need to add players who are ready to challenge for the title from the off), but I would be made up if we got either of them to be honest.

You implied one of the factors for picking Micah over Daniel was Micah's age.

              Fact.

If anything, I'd pick Alves over Richards due to the age.

I think Alves would rather come here than go to Chelsea.

Just pay them and lets get him up here.

"Liverpool were also represented at Boundary Park on Tuesday when they were believed to be taking another look at teenage right-back Neal Eardley, though Mr Corney says they have received no inquiry from any club for the Wales under-21 international."

Sevilla have again moved to play down reports that Brazilian defender Daniel Alves will be moving on in the January transfer window.

The highly-rated full-back - voted player of the tournament in last season's Uefa Cup - is already known to be a target for Liverpool boss Rafa Benitez who submitted an offer for him over the summer.

However, press speculation has suggested that both Barcelona and Chelsea are also in the hunt for his signature, with Blues boss Jose Mourinho purportedly keen to arrange a deal for January.

Sevilla director of sport Ramon 'Monchi' Rodriguez has brushed off talk that Alves will be sold, though, insisting the player is poised to put pen to paper on a new deal at the Estadio Sanchez Pizjuan.

"There has been no contact with Barcelona, not now and not last summer either," Rodriguez told Radio Marca.

"I have not received an offer or a call from Abramovich, Mourinho or anybody else from the English club.

"In fact, we will make public his contract extension in the next few hours as we have reached an agreement with him."

Just believe and you never know what will happen.

According to Benitez it's important not simply to go out to win but to go out prepared to win, which means players have to put in the same level of work on a daily basis. Anything else is unacceptable.

I think when he came on as a sub at White Hart Lane and Robbie Keane dumped him on his fat arse before crossing for the winning goal was the end of his right back career!

Maureen was raging and subbed him 10 minutes later! comedy moment of the season!

Sevilla are doing well in La Liga going for the title whats to say he wants to leave he wasnt in any rush last summer and he could get a medal for winning La Liga

If the price goes to 18 million i dont think we, with our mentality over buying players will pay that price for him.

Rafa was willing to pay £11m for Alves in the last transfer window.

I don't think that Alves will leave in January because he has promised the Sevilla supporters to stay this season.

If he is as good as everyone seems to think he is then 13m quid seems like a more than fair price.
