At what point could we be in the title race?

Was just reading one of the rags this morning, that seemed to think we were now back in the title picture which I disagree with, as I don't think we are.

But it got me thinking about when we should be considered back in the title picture, if at all. If we got the gap down to say 9/10 points come mid-January would that constitute us being back in the picture?

I'm just interested what you all think on this matter?

If we have any chance of winning it this season then we will of have to have beaten Chelsea and Manure at home. By the 3rd March we will know.

That must be coming at a distance of 7-8 points from the top, then we'd be considered title challengers. So, if before facing Manure and Chelsea we've managed to cut that lead at the top to say 8 points, we will be right up there and fighting for the league ... A win would cut the lead to 5 points and they would still have to play each other.

The problem is we have a very difficult run of games in Jan to Mar then we have an easier run in to the finish. We will either be challengers or making up the places come the beginning of April. I also think Rafa will strengthen the squad in January because of the difficult run to come.

At the moment the title race is over for us. If we are within 9 points by the end of January, we might have the smallest of chances but I can't see it happening.

well it's 13 now, and we've got to play both the Mancs and Chelsea, a couple of wins would get that down to 10, and after that who knows.
