      WIN, WIN, WIN
Don't want to sound like a pessamist but Benitez has never beaten either Man U or Chelsea in a league match.

Sometimes Matt you sound like a cross between Sherlock Holmes ("when you have excluded the impossible, whatever remains, however improbable, must be the truth") and Mr Logic.

That's mainly meant as a compliment.
              .
Suppose you have a physicist and a sociologist standing at the side of a field, observing a set of events unfolding on the field. The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.

May the Lord bless this post.

But it got me thinking about when we should be considered back in the title picture, if at all. If we got the gap down to say 9/10 points come mid-January would that constitute us being back in the picture?

I'm just interested what you all think on this matter?

I certainly don't think we can be considered one of the favourites again but we're bck in with a shout. Realistically we can certainly make the points up with games at home against Chelsea and the mancs with both of those teams got to play each other and arsenal away as well. If we can maintin our good form you never know where we'll be with maybe 2months-6weeks left.

Its up to the boys to put the pressure on as much as poss. If they want it that badly its certainly doable.

we can't beat the other top teams so until we can beat chelsea, man u and arsenal in the league we can forget it. If we had taken points from all 3 this season, even draws, we would be much better off.

There are weaknesses in their teams. Man u reliance on giggs, scholes ronaldo, and little depth. chelsea reliant on drogba and terry. with terry out, look at them on the weekend.

Personally, I think one of them could fall into our target range, but not both.

Pretty sure we've beaten all three of them at home before at some point in the last 2 yrs
