    No retreat, no surrender.

We are Liverpool, we never give up until it's impossible. Even then we still push on.

I still believe if we are to ever win the title again we'll do it some miraculous way. We always do, winning the league easily being 10+ pts ahead isn't the Liverpool way. We'll leave it to the last second on the last day of the season.

take heart from the Liverpool run during the 1981/82 season

At the moment the title race is over for us. If we are within 9 points by the end of January, we might have the smallest of chances but I can't see it happening.
I'd say we have a better argument then most.

Did we go out and smack Alaves, Olympiakos, Juventus, Chelsea x 2, Milan, Luton and the Hammers?

          that's 8 match's over 6 years the league is 38 in one

          and Luton FFS

we have to do it week in week out

as for title race when was the last time we played Chav's or Scum and we were in front of them in the league?

There's an outside chance, a buyer for the club could give us that new manager luck and we can win the next 5 games.
if we get within 9 points and still 9 match's to go we have a chance as we have the better run in.

But next season for me, we seemed to suffer re the world cup more than the others. Next year no such destraction
Its times like these we learn to live again FF

So, can Watford still win it? Fulham? Sheff Utd maybe?

So it's the realistic angle we need to be looking at.

If you were putting money on it, you wouldnt put it on us.

If we have any chance of winning it this season then we will of have to have beaten Chelsea and Manure at home. By the 3rd March we will know.
if we win every game between now and the end of jan wed have beaten chelsea and bolton at home and won at spurs/blackburn and the hammers.

if we win 7/7 between now (watford home and away too) and then well have 52 points, a shedload of momentum and we WOULD be in the title race.

i dont however believe that will happen

Depends if the Dubai people take over in time for January and we sign Alves, Villa, etc.

                      So that's a no then.

I'm prepared to accept 3rd this season, go as far as possible in the cups, get the takeover sorted and then get some momentum heading into next season.

For now, I don't think we should worry about the title. We're too far behind. For now, we just need to concentrate on winning, plain and simple. If we get to within 6 points of the leaders, then we can talk title. But we're nowhere close right now.

Nobody's saying we're favourites though. Just that we're in with more of a chance than some people think.

Yep. We've just got to plug away, and keep this momentum building. And remember that no matter how this season turns out, that after bedding in as many new players as we have this season, the building blocks are there for a better kick start next season.

In 1991 Denmark failed to qualify for the European Championship. Yugoslavia beat us to it. Then the war broke out and Yugoslavia couldn't attend and we got their place and won the whole thing. So there is a chance. But unless we are talking force majeur you can forget about it. Maybe if it was just one team we had to catch. We know that Chelsea doesn't throw more than 5/6 matches over the entire season ffs.

There is a fine line between being stupid and being optimistic...
