Fully fit squad, this would be my line up:

      --------------------------Reina

      Johnson---------Skrtel------------Agger----------Enrique

      ---------------Lucas----------------Sahin

      ------------------------Suso

      -----Gerrard-------------------------------------Sterling

      --------------------------Suarez

I notice everyone has Enrique back in their team after yesterday. Not sure that Rodgers is convinced by him yet and surprised so many people are that easily swayed considering comments not so long ago.
If we are all only happy when we are really winning in the end, when your race finishes, what life would that be?

On yesterdays performance there is still hope, and the only reason I chose him because I want GJ back his preferred and strongest position. I would still be looking at a new LB in January mind, maybe the added competition will get the best out o fhim.

I mentioned pre-season that I wouldn't be surprised to see Johnson play quite a bit at LB at the expense of Enrique. I'd be happy enough with that if we had a better attacking RB to replace him with (still think Flanagan is our best option), but for now I'm happy for Enrique to be given the opportunity to prove himself.

He's a better wing back than full back. When he's playing full back he renders the left mid useless as he just steam rollers down the wing and ignores them. Probably best suited to having the whole left side to himself and that way he won't get confused. I don't think he's the brightest button tbh

That's a fair point. My response when my brother complained about him after the Newcastle game was 'at least he made a nuisance of himself' and that's exactly what he does. Although he was quite wasteful on the ball, he still got up and down the pitch and occasionally occupied defenders, even if he was getting in Raheem's way. That's why I think I'd prefer him over Kelly or Wisdom at the minute as I think we need the extra width from our FB's.

everybody is assuming Lucas will be the same player as pre injury last season. with that injury and the one picked up this season it may be hard for him to get to that level. mentally if anything. I hope he does, but I don't think saying 'we'll be alright when Lucas returns' is all that realistic. The midfield is a mess and he may add to the woes rather than solve them. All the same, it'll be good to have him back.

Got to see how he comes back but we have to be realistic he might not ever be back to the player he was

His current injury shouldn't have long term repercusions regarding fitness and ability.

I think what we need to be really careful is how we manage his body until its back used to playing competitive football again. The rest of this season he needs to rested regularly, no more than one game every 7 days ideally. Hopefully this reduces the stresses on his body and stops him from picking up niggly injuries which players returning for long layoffs tend to pick up.

I hope that's the wind and not his gut hanging out.

                            Fantastic to see him back

Let's really ease him back into action please, I would rather him miss a few extra games to make sure he's 100%, instead of rushing him back and playing him every game and risking another serious injury.
