Thought he was really good again last night. Klopp loves him.

And Lucas believes Klopp will continue to improve both his own game and the displays of the team as a whole as they prepare to travel to Newcastle in the Premier League on Sunday.
'I'm learning a lot and and he's a very demanding manager but a person who tells you what you need to do to improve,' Lucas told Liverpool's official website. 'That's what he wants and if you make mistakes he just doesn't kill your confidence and he gives you confidence to improve and tells you what you need to do.

'So that's what we've been talking about and he's trying to add some things on my game and I think slowly I'm getting there. Of course it's never perfect but I'm very happy with the way I'm playing and improving.

'For me it was about the belief and the confidence that I needed. I think he's been giving me that and giving me an important role to play in the team. I think everyone in the squad feels important and everyone feels that you have a part to play.'

Hardly surprising, but good to see him being so modest. He's been great under Klopp so has every right to be shouting from the rooftops about how good he is. Instead...

If we are all only happy when we are really winning in the end, when your race finishes, what life would that be?

Meh, Lovren's got more MOTM nominations on here than him.

One of his worst games for quite some time. Passing was horrendous and the yellow summed him up in a nutshell. Didn't think the ref had seen the first foul so decided to yank the guy down to make sure he got himself a yellow card. Probably needs a rest.

Been class for us but yeah he was awful. Everyone entitled to a few stinkers I suppose.

Think he's been playing too much, needs a break.

Was still our most second accurate passer in midfield (after Firmino) yesterday despite a pretty poor game.

Having Milner and Allen with him make him look a bit of a plodder as well.

Playing with Can and Allen in midweek and they looked dynamite against a good Soton midfield.

Well yes. Neither had good games.

Part of Lucas' role is to not give the ball away, recycle and start stuff, so I'd want his passing accuracy stats to be high, whereas I'd want Robbie F to be taking chances in the final third, so that should be reflected in a poorer passing percentage.

Lucas didn't have his best game but he wasn't the issue yesterday. The three players that really let us down were firmino, Milner and benteke.
