See.....I'm not sure about Lovren, certainly not in place of Sakho at any point, but I'm not sure even in Can's role on the wrong foot he'd be ideal.
Too reckless, too easy to pull around etc......at least Sakho and Can's forays are with the ball at their feet, rarely is it because they're trying to ride the opposition. Lovren was pulled around in a back two, so I'm not sure how much he'd be able to control himself when afforded more space.
Especially given how isolated our CBs find themselves at times by the wingbacks - more so Moreno on the left to be fair, Markovic was doing OK to a point and Ibe performed well in the role yesterday.

It could work.........you'd feckin' hope so with a 20m fee, but he's never impressed me in even the most basic functions of a defender.

It would be a mistake to mess around with our back line at the moment. With Sakho. Skertel & Can its looked the most settled it has all season.

I'd be interested to see Lovren in a back 3 though in a back two both him and Skrtel didn't cover themselves in any glory whatsoever but since the move to a back 3 Skrtel has been very good.

Nightmare about Lucas being injured..so typical. Definitely move Can into midfield beside Henderson. Johnson or Lovren at RCB is not inspiring to say the least.

Would love to see Can in midfield but Lucas' role will be difficult for him, it takes a massive amount of discipline and self sacrifice. Big shoes to fill.
