Gerrard is important because he can still do it on the pitch. What sort of 'leadership' does Carragher have to provide off the pitch? Would he personally visit each player and tell them to take heed of the Manager or he'll **** them?

Carragher is a veteran player on a team of young players, he has been with the club his whole career, the new manager said he is important to his plans, I assumed that is not on the pitch, that Carragher's support of the manager's program is important. We saw what happened at Chelsea. I am not saying a) the exact same thing will or would happen at LFC or b) Carragher would not be on board or c) that he would threaten players. How is it silly? YOU intimated that the Manager needs the buy-in of the veteran players otherwise he'll get AVB'd...

agree. Needs Cara's buy in, leadership and support. Doesn't want to get AVB'd by the veterans.

I'm merely asking for clarification on what form that AVB'ing would take with respect to Carragher, and how will it impact the team.

Talk about making mountains out of molehills. We all know Rodgers philosophy so we can almost guarantee that Carra wont be starting the season.

I wouldnt be surprised if he goes this summer tbh, go have a couple of seasons elsewhere before he calls it a day. Just like Sami he knows he isnt good enough to play week in, week out but maybe if he fancies another challenge before he quits.
