Rudo has clearly rigged the voting. Well in mate.

Bit surprised at this, as Lucas has clearly been our best player this season
but at least it wasn't Gerrard, i still can't believe he's top of the MOTM thingy for 2010/2011 season

I'm very suprised, but well done Raul
The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

work has dragged me away from this site for months now, but I am so glad to be back... so happy for Raul... Was thrilled when we signed him and have been more thrilled by his play. With some rest, a few key signings and some training as a unit, LFC is primed to become a dominant force again and I believe in Kenny to get us there. Raul will be crucial to our success and has been a fine player this season for us. Congrats!

5 goals in 37 is pretty poor for an attacking midfielder

He's a decent footballer and he'll be valuable in the squad for the next couple of years though.

squad player is what Meireles should be next season imo.

He needs to up his game.

Your astonishing stupidity shows itself again.

He shouldn't be anywhere near the top of the MOTM charts for this season. Fact.

What the hell does that have to do with Raul Meireles winning an award? Thats the point. And you genuinely dont understand why you get grief. Your lack of self awareness is remarkable.

How the **** did he win this? I didn't even realise he was known away from Liverpool. I'd need to see how the voting is done and broken down before I can get my head around this!

It all depends on how many of a team's fans can be arsed voting on the PFA website...............hardly fair and accurate

So just like the normal PFA award then I suppose

I'm astounded that enough fans from other clubs know who he was to be honest...

That and the fact the anti Liverpool sentiment has been ****ing massive this season, makes it a bit of a shocker!

He's been decent for his first year in England. Top class at times, poor at others. Average a lot of the time. I would class him as a success, he's done well enough.

Next season will be key for him. As has already been said, he needs to up his game. As it's his first season he obviously gets a period of grace, next year that no longer applys. It's time to deliver.

That said, he's not the only one who has been lacking this season. Time for excuses has run out, as quite a few have now been poor for TWO seasons running. In fact, many of our squad will survive the cull purely based on the fact that most of the new signings this year have been that bad, that they need to go before the ones who have failed to deliver for two years.
                            Forwards.......

                              agree with all that.

Don't know who it was but a poster said we should sell Meireles in the summer, thought that was way OTT tbh...even though he does need to improve his overall game.
When it's a scrappy, physical game Meireles needs to show he can still have an influence and make things happen.
I do worry about him in a 4-4-2 which you'd have to think we'll be playing from now on with Suarez and Carroll in the side.

As for the squad, you're dead right, there's been too many players that have simply underperformed for too long now, some will go and some will be given one final chance to prove their worth.
I'm actually starting to think Maxi will be sold. I reckon Kenny will look to completely change the way we play on the wings - both Cole and Maxi will go imo. Obv Jovanovic too.

I'm just shocked that the majority of LFC fans would have him as player of the year, never mind if any other club's fans voted for him

                                Lucas FTW
