When it's a scrappy, physical game Meireles needs to show he can still have an influence and make things happen. I do worry about him in a 4-4-2 which you'd have to think we'll be playing from now on with Suarez and Carroll in the side.

I'm actually starting to think Maxi will be sold. I reckon Kenny will look to completely change the way we play on the wings - both Cole and Maxi will go imo. Obv Jovanovic too.
    Some key points there.

There was a period under Roy where it was Lucas and Raul in the centre whilst Stevie was out, and tbf to the lad he did quite well. But I do get the impression that the game can pass him buy when it gets a bit blood and thunder.

Most people saw last nights London derby, a real classic premiership game. That is the sort of game that I think Raul can get lost in at present. But as anyone will tell you, that is not unusual for a foreign player in his first season. The pace of the game is so quick compared to elsewhere that some can never get to grips. Only time will tell but Raul has improved as the season has gone on.

As for Maxi, Cole and Jova. I would suggest none of those three will be here next season. It doesn't really make sense to give Maxi a new deal, I'd have kept him had he a year or so left, but with it being up we may as well part ways. He's had little effect since the return of Kenny. I think it is obvious with regards Jova and Cole. They've done nothing.
    Forwards.......

They dont mate. He wont have had a vote outside of your lot.

It says a lot about your season if he's been your best player. Suarez will walk this award next year.

Having said that, i've no doubt you'll finish above us next year. Need serious changes.

but at least it wasn't Gerrard, i still can't believe he's top of the MOTM thingy for 2010/2011 season
Maybe that shows that you're wrong about Gerrard.

Unless of course you think you know better than the rest of us...

Are you happy to stick with Wenger, or do you think it's perhaps time for him to move on/upstairs?

But that as well, there would be so many more of us that would go for Lucas over Meireles, thats why its such a surprise...

As for the Gunners - you need leaders there. Fabregas isn't your typical Arsenal captain. There hasn't been a leader of men at Arsenal since Vieira, its a real lacking. Hopefully that won't be Pepe.

Pity van Persie isn't available more, he's the nearest thing Arsenal have to Henry when he was at his best.

Hmmm, it does have that end of the line feel to it, doesn't it?

Yep, Meireles really struggles when a match is played at a fast and furious and the tackles are flying in all over the place.
It's strange because he's mobile, and can run all day but a match can often bypass him and he becomes a passenger.

In the midfield, we really need more options...out wide obviously but also in the middle. Lucas is our best centre midfielder but he can't do it all himself, we need a player that can get on the ball and provide our wingers and forwards with good service...it's easier said than done but that's what we need.

Yeah Jova and Cole will defo be on their way, and yeah Maxi could follow. I'd be kinda disappointed if he left, as i wouldn't mind him staying as a squad player but if we're going to bring in quality wide men then it's probably better if he leaves.

Really looking forward to the deadwood departing.

ANOTHER transition period to look forward to. ****ing ******* Hicks and Gillett. Lets hope this time it doesn't take too long and we can have the seasons we were supposed to have under Rafa.

If (Massive massive if) the money was reinvested Fabregas can go as far as i'm concerned. We'd get a lot and Wilshere is an extremely similar player with a lot more fight which - as the press may have pointed out - we need.

As for Wenger i genuinely don't know. I take his point that we're batting above our means, though it is getting tiresome. We need 2 additions in defence and a stable forward line.

Nasri - Van Persie - Walcott

Has as much variation and should be as good as anyone on it's day.

If I were an Arsenal fan I'd be sick to death of Wenger bringing Bendtner on and - as if that's not bad enough - sticking him on the right wing. I'm not sure I've ever seen it work? Either way he shouldn't be out there IMO, if he's got to play a part it surely has to be through the middle.
Thanks very much for being ‘This Mornings’ Farmer’

what i dont understand is that early wenger sides had that bite with viera who was imense. also they had a good mix of experience and youth.

not sure why he suddenly abandoned that model.

they could have picked up experience relatively cheaply and it wouldnt have blocked a space for a younger lad for that long

this has to be a joke. meireles wasnt even the best player for us let alone the premier league.

he's a ****ing pussy and we should flog the chicken**** in the summer. £11m flushed down the toilet. he's so ****ing good we play him on the left hand side of midfield, when he's never played there in his life, doesnt have a left foot or can beat a man.

they put him there so he's out of the way.

Disagree there. He's not the best player we have or are likely to get, but to dismiss him as ****e is wrong.

More excellent points El Matador, keeping up the good work as always.
