If we are all only happy when we are really winning in the end, when your race finishes, what life would that be?

Wow, so much bollocks. He has got a left foot too - a very good left foot.Originally posted by el matador View Postthis has to be a joke. meireles wasnt even the best player for us let alone the premier league.
he's a ****ing pussy and we should flog the chicken**** in the summer. £11m flushed down the toilet. he's so ****ing good we play him on the left hand side of midfield, when he's never played there in his life, doesnt have a left foot or can beat a man.
they put him there so he's out of the way. Thanks very much for being ‘This Mornings’ Farmer’

ok...
for me it beggars belief that meireles was the fans player of the year. he's been awful and bar his 5 goals he's been really poor.
i think he'll struggle to get a game next season because at present even spearing contributes more than he does and lucas is just a level beyond him. If you hear reports about adam coming, gerrard being fit again, aquilani possibly making a return and the likes of shelvey and coady also being in the mix its just too many options for kenny.
thats a lot of central midfield players for a couple of spots and meireles wont get a game. it might be best to offload him back to portugal or italy - somewhere where he wont have to tackle or be challenged by others.[B]Sir Isaac Newton knew the universal law of karma - any action has its equal and opposite reaction.[B]

he struggles to keep hold of the ball and cant hit passes over 30 yards. not good enough for the £11m we paid for him.Originally posted by Shaggy View PostWow, so much bollocks. How long has he been here again ? Sure he can adapt to the Prem with more games and time. Not sure he can't hit passes over 30yrds either, more confidence will bring more of those type of passes imo.Originally posted by el matador View Posthe struggles to keep hold of the ball and cant hit passes over 30 yards. not good enough for the £11m we paid for him.Last edited by Vermilion; 23-04-11, 11:06 AM.

he's 28 years old. its too late for someone of that age to adapt to a new type of game than what he's played all his life.Originally posted by Vermilion View PostHow long has he been here again ? you have to buy these types of foreign midfielders much younger because then you can allow them a season or two to adapt to the more physical demands of the EPL. Older more experienced pros have their game established by 25 / 26 but younger players can be moulded to suit.
Next season meireles will be 29 years old and his resale value will be zip.[B]Sir Isaac Newton knew the universal law of karma - any action has its equal and opposite reaction.[B]

Maybe going overboard el mat, but i do agree Meireles hasn't been our best player this season...it's clearly Lucas(by a country mile) and Raul is a bit of a pussy.
No-one is saying you have to be Roy Keane but ffs you don't have to be a chicken **** either when it comes to tackling and the general physical side of the game.
Too many times he has pulled out or not even attempted to win the ball back so as not to risk getting a kick. It drives me mad.
As for our midfield options in the middle... whilst he's a good prospect, Coady shouldn't be counted as part of the squad just yet, Shelvey...he's only 19 but i'm really not sure about this lad tbh....he just runs around and doesn't seem to have any control or composure to his game.
Gerrard can't be relied upon, i don't think Aquilani will be back(hope not anyway), we defo need more options in the centre of midfield.Last edited by Rudo; 23-04-11, 11:13 AM.

you're right in that he does pull out of a lot of challenges and you just cant have that when you play for liverpool.
Gerrard when fit will play, it leaves either 1 or 2 midfield spots. lucas had done enough to warrant one of those if we play a midfield 3, otherwise we will have to buy someone else to hold and ball retrieve in a midfield 2.[B]Sir Isaac Newton knew the universal law of karma - any action has its equal and opposite reaction.[B]

Exactly, it's unacceptable and it's not a one-off either...he's done it in many games this season, most notably at Old Trafford and Upton Park.Originally posted by el matador View Postyou're right in that he does pull out of a lot of challenges and you just cant have that when you play for liverpool.

As a fan, it's hard to watch, because it's really the min requirement.
You would think Gerrard will start when fit, for sure, but his injury problems and loss of form in the last two seasons are cause for concern hence if we can get a real top quality centre mid in the summer that would be great news for everyone, including Gerrard himself.
Agree about Lucas, he certainly deserves a place in the first 11. What a turnaround for him, still not getting the praise he deserves imo but at least he's performing regularly - that's the main thing.

You're all knob jockeys..
Suppose you have a physicist and a sociologist standing at the side of a field, observing a set of events unfolding on the field. The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.
May the Lord bless this post.
