Raul Meireles is ready to leave Liverpool after the club's new ownership reneged on an informal agreement to improve his contract

If im wrong could someone correct me, Could it be someone at the the club at the time told him they would improve his contract (He'd get a raise) if he settled in well but it wasn't written into his contract?

he hasnt settled in well and so should take a pay cut instead.

better flog him instead and juventus are stupid enough to buy him then let him go to the cheating cunts instead. I read somewhere that they offered philipe melo and a packet of twiglets for meireles and that melo was angry at that offer.

well, firstly im pretty annoyed at being offered that sorry excuse for a footballer and secondly we should apologise to the twiglets for such an insult.

Selling Meireles is a step in the right direction. Good player but a bad fit.

Small club mentality. If this is true, then he should go. He surely doesnt believe he should be first choice all of the time? Rotation is part of the game now, and with injuries he was bound to get games as his game is different to Henderson Adams and Lucas.

If he does not want ro fight, then its time to go and join a small town club where he can be the big man... Everton need a midfielder?

I think he's pissed off because he was promised something and they're not delivering on the promise - and i would understand him being pissed off at that.

                  Meanwhile....

66-Raul Meireles created 66 goalscoring chances for Liverpool in 2010-11,the same amount as Luka Modric at Spurs. Unsettled. via Optajoe

OptaJoe doesn't make Modric sound very good, seen quite a few stats that have not been in his favour.

Yet he is clearly Spurs best player. Stats, schmatts.

New owners& new management do not have to honour anything that is not their contractual obligation. That was the previous regime. He can do one. (Thats what I would say if it was my business)

                        Very classy then.

And aside from that, he's a very good footballer who we should be keeping unless a silly offer (eg £20m) comes in.

No thats from my business viewpoint. (Personally I do not want to keep him at LFC).

Naturally if the current board want to keep him and want to keep him happy then they'll honour such verbal agreements

I think they would if they believe it makes business sense but if those reports are true selling him rather than increasing his wages to them may seem better course of action.

I'm not keen on these 'make business sense' decisions, it should be about what's best to help the club succeed on the pitch. If you get that right, the 'business' stuff will take care of itself.

That depends if you want to keep him or not.

To me it makes perfect sense
